What should we expect? Who wins? And yes, it matters. Will the 51-0 halftime beatdown factor into this year's Bluebird gameplan?

Did I hear correctly that they are only playing three quarters of regular football? If so, not as excited for the game and wonder if the score will mean anything.

Possibly the case, Highlands is traveling the Frosh, JV and Varsity so field time is at a premium...

Be nice to see a competitive scrimmage like in 2010.

Why does it matter this year? In past years most HHS fans have bent over backwards explaining how Dale just uses these games to work on some things and get plenty of reps for as many players as possible. Is it the fact that Trinity is expected to be down and Highlands is expected to be really good? Is Dale going to try to win the scrimmage this year?

Highlands is a Great Program one of the best in the history of the state bar none, but you guys kill me...:lol2:

I hope Dale sticks it to em'!

All this excitement over a meaningless game? I know it's Highlands-Trinity, but come on.

If I remember correctly, if you play four quarters of football with the varsity, then it would not be considered a scrimmage game but a regular game!

It does not matter this year, last year, or any other year. The last time it mattered is 2000 when it was a real game that was played at Trinity. Ill bet that most coaches use scrimmages to work on things, get reps etc.

BTW- any team would be called "down" considering what they lost to graduation the last couple of seasons...Plus, A perceived "down" Trinity team is still extremely good.

Finally, I am pretty sure Whackem' is not a Highlands fan.

Not true. You have 3 hours to scrimmage and it's up to the coaches to determine how to utilize that 3 hours. If you could get 5 varsity quarters in in the 3 hour time frame that would be OK.

All Tell is correct. It is up to the schools how they split up the time. Here is the wording from the KHSAA:

3. The total elapsed time from the start of each scrimmage until

the end shall be no longer than three consecutive hours (Start

to fi nish, including any breaks) and all competition activity

shall held at the same site. This time limit is not playing time,

but elapsed time on the clock and starts when the fi rst team

member at any level engages a person from another other

team in any manner. The restriction allows for participation in

any fashion with outside opponents for a single, continuous,

three hour period. It is possible that the varsity, junior varsity

and freshman teams could oppose each other in game

simulation settings and only be charged with one scrimmage

if the TOTAL amount of time scrimmaged for all team levels

combined from start to fi nish is less than three hours. The

three hour time measurement shall be suspended in the event

that inclement weather forces cancellation after a scrimmage

has begun and shall resume when warm-up activities resume

following the suspension;

4) The limitation is for all levels of play (grades 9-12) at a school,

not each level of play

Was this the game between Gino Guidughli and one of the Brohms, maybe Brian?

T came up a little short in an absolute gunslinger of a show

If so, then that game was played at Montgomery Co, site of the oldest and original preseason bowl classics...The Recreation Bowl.
