Papa John's crowd was light... I never saw any posted numbers but I'd say 6500 in the stands, another 1000 in the sweets and another 1000 kids that just hung out under the stands... so 8500 maybe??

Butler is in Shively which if you are familiar with Louisville, is the Dixie Highway area. Close to Western & Holy Cross schools if that helps.

Here are some series tidbits... Trinity leads all time series 9-5-1. Seven of the 15 games have been playoff games. First games was in 1957 (13-13 tie). Last time they played was 2008 (65-12 Shamrocks).

Are there any Butler Bears on BGP? I'd like to hear more on the team. I know they have a 1-2 punch at running back Berkley & Brock). The two Butler loses came at the hands of super district teams (Male & Manual). Great comeback last night to get to host this game but I think this game will get out of hand pretty quick.

I still don't know if Dawkins can make it into that "stable of running backs". What do you think?

A quiet night for Mr. Quick, 4 catches for about 27 yards. Dawkins took up the slack & more, 24 carries - 236 yards, 2 tds. Not the sharpest passing night for Wright, 15-27 (with a handful of drops by his buds). Mattingly was a dismal 1-8 with a pick in the first half but finished 9-20. Walker was only rb to run for 100 yards on T's defense this year, he had 16 carries for 100. I don't think either team played as well as they could, X could not take advantage of early interception and could not punch it in on 4th down just before half. I thought the X play calling was terrible. No imagination whatsoever. X had a nice 8 minute drive in the 2nd half but there was no urgency to score and try to come back from the 29-0 deficit. Looked like they were playing not to be blown out. I really expected more out of the Tigers. I thought the player changes and 5 game roll they were on would make them a formidable opponent. Nope. On to Shively now for round 4! P.S. Qiuck had ice on his knee but did finally make it to midfield (limping) after the game.

Coming off two pretty easy games I hope T has not forgotten what it's like to be smacked. X will come with guns-a-blazin. Prior posters are correct in that an injury, a botched snap, muffed punt return, unexpected onsides kick, etc., could give the Tigers enough juice to take it into the fourth quarter (where anything can and has happened in the past - anybody recall that 11-10 game?). I will be shocked if this is a blowout like the past 3. My crystal ball says that X leads at half but a mistake by X special teams gives T the spark to win 27-14 in a game closer than the score indicates.

I hope Trinity's players have not been playing too much Call of Duty!

Well said... I too hope he gets the record. He has been "Walter Payton like" as his o-line has not always been dominate and he has played the big boys along the way.

About half of those 43 yards came on a nice pass play Manual had on their first drive of the game. Their O-line was completely overmatched. Trinity had a punt return for a TD but on other returns had some blunders. An XP was missed too. Not a perfect game for T but to beat one of the states better thems like that - I don't think fans are complaining. Two games, 113-7 if my memory & math are correct.

Is this considered the state title game?
