I will agree with Jim in one area. We rotated girls early practice one day and boys early another day. I wanted to be late practice on Monday and Thursday when most of our games were, so that game days from when they woke up to when they game started were pretty close to normal for them. Practice was 5:30 to 7:30 and for JV games they had to be at the gym at 6:00. About as close as I could honestly make it. I do agree with your last paragraph, 100%.

Most of my players felt the same way. And they especially loved having that afternoon off to go hang out with their friends. My assistant coaches were the ones that had the most problem with it.:D:D

My scenario when I had 6:00 am pratices. Veteran's Day and a county-wide event is in the only open gym in our district for me to practice. Because of decorating, it will be closed for two days. Choices are 6:00 AM practices or cancel practice for 2 days the 2nd week of November with us playing a scrimmage game in Lex Catholic's panorama that Saturday. Which would you do?

I had a parent actually say this to me once, "I think it is unsafe for my daughter to be driving that early. Now, it would be different if she was a boy." :confused: Now, I could be mistaken but on a Tuesday morning, wouldn't there be less drunks and such on the road at 5:45 AM than there would be driving home after a late practice at 8:00 PM?

SOAS used to have a family rate. $10.00 and mom, dad, kids, grandparents, uncles, etc, etc all got in on it but they had to be there all at one time. I thought they still did this.

Erma Bombeck had a good book called, The grass is always greener over the septic tank. Sometimes that grass is greener because of the crap that is underneath it. That said, I know minimal to nothing on Corey's situation and the above is NO commentary on it. I just always liked the book.

Pendleton 35 Ludlow 7. And based upon the recent threads on here after Pendleton beats someone, a Ludlow poster will blame the Pendleton victory on the Ludlow coach.

And what's that? UC plays in the Big East that will get tons of publicity and national TV exposure if they are competing at the top of the Big East. UC has a history that is unmatched by about 90-95% of the colleges in this country. They are one of only a handful of schools to make it to the Championship game 3 straight years and/or winning two of them in a row. UK, Duke, San Fran and UCLA, I think are the only four to have done this. Playing at a major college in a major conference that will get a lot of TV exposure and is close to home. Unless you are talking under the table deals, not sure what more someone else would have to offer.

Sharp should be tough. Good guard play and some depth that will allow them to press and run with the ball.

Maybe the Bourbon fans and the Franklin fans need to give Coach Teegarden and the Wildcats some credit instead of both groups continuing to blame the coaches of their respective teams. Maybe, just maybe, the reason why Franklin and Bourbon lost to Pendleton was that Pendleton is a better team and not the fault of your coach.

Pendleton County is having their first ever Homecoming at a football game on Friday night.

Silver Grove is hosting a two-weekend tournament in mid-November that is already filled and times have been sent out. Harrison County is hosting a tournament in mid-November if any of the NKY teams would like to head down US 27 for about an hour. Scott County and Lexington schools are usually in attendance. Some good school competition. Contact Larry Kendall through the school system.

I hear he is a DI prospect.

The Suns finished 3rd in the state last year in the 5th grade division and will be in the 6th grade division this year. IMO, they are doing what should be done and not participating in a league or many/any tournaments while the school leagues are happening. This will allow the boys to play with their school teams.

Thinking about it, I have no problem with the top 3 in the order. Montgomery County graduated a bunch and preseason, they are where they should be. Postseason, I wouldn't be surprised if they make a return trip to Diddle. I think they must have standing reservations at this point. I would move Scott, Bracken, and Mason(in that order) in front of Paris and Campbell. Paris has to prove to me that the loss of Coach Brooks can be overcome. That is NO COMMENTARY on the present coach but rather the TREMENDOUS RESPECT I have for Coach Brooks. Campbell needs some guard play to get the ball to their strong inside play. Drop out Brossart and put Pendleton at 9 and Harrison at 10. Pendleton can and should be higher but they need to prove it on the court. Pendleton County not in the top 10 is a mistake.

With all of the egos going on in here between GRC and Mason, it sure would be sweet for some one else to knock both of them off of their high horses come March.:clap::thumb::banana:
