Back on and they will not be able to finish today. Last year the girls had the same issues on Tuesday and here is the way it was handled. Which could give you an idea of how the boys will go. Finish as many holes as they can today. Some will only get in 6. Early tomorrow, come back out and pick up where they left off. Somewhere around 1:00 the championship round will start with tee times. They will not be able to finish the championship round on Wednesday and will finish it Thursday morning before the girls' practice rounds are allowed to start on Thursday.

A tournament will not always produce that. A tournament sees the winner being the team with the hot hand. My senior year, Winston Bennett was a senior somewhere in Louisville. If my senility will let me remember correctly, they beat their first round district opponent by 30 some points during the regular season and was undefeated or had one loss. Of course, they lost in the first round of the district tournament to the team they had destroyed during the regular season. So, no a tournament does not always produce the best team as the winner. Ask Georgetown if Villanova was better than them. Only a season in which everyone plays each other will produce the best team.

I am assuming they will let the young man head to the state golf tournament on Monday=Wednesday.

Pendleton County has a pretty good team with 3 of the top 5 finishers in Region 8 coming off their squad. That 4th score will be vital for them.

Congrats to Scott County for winning the team title and for Megan Wilshire for the individual. Both defended their titles from 2008. Ayla Rhinesmith also from Scott County placed 2nd. Also on the Scott County team are Liz Gumm, Kacey Dunn and Mallory Lovall. Congrats to Coach Carpenter. Mason County took 2nd place as a team. Christen Cropper, Tiara Harris, Lauren Vice, Bethany Foister and Bridget Morris make up the Lady Royals. Congrats to Coach Arn. Individually, Polly Whalen, Harrison County, took 3rd place and qualified. Abby Ruberg, Bishop Brossart, 5th place and qualified for state. Kristen Smith, Pendleton County, 6th place and qualified for state. And Jessica Shelton from Bourbon County grabbed the last finalist spot. Conditions were tough as it was cold, very windy and 4-5 holes at Houston Oaks were underwater 36 hours before the tournament. The girls played the ball down and NO lift, clean and replace rule for them. It was a REAL test.

Pendleton had three of the top five individuals in Lane Weaver, Timmy Cooper and Phoenix Ramsey.

While you are now a member of the 10th region family, honestly, many will always see you as a NKY interloper just visiting the 10th region core family of the counties he mentioned. Sorry, just stating the facts.

Based on my experience with BGP and who is going where threads has anyone: 1) checked with local bankers 2) seen if they are interested in raising horses 3) have a 3rd cousin on mom's side who told you over pizza at a 4th cousin on your dad's house 4) scoured the local hotels and motels checking out rental cars and license plates. :lol:

Unfortunately, many times when adults get involved in kids' sports it is the kids' that get hurt the most.

We have a trainer that shows up on one afternoon a week after school. Trainers are not at practices for the sports teams. Coaches handle all of those duties of dealing with injuries, taping, handling players, rehabbing in most rural counties.

You need to read the NKY threads on basketball where I said that a few years back I looked into a teaching/coaching job at Calvary Christian and gave strong consideration to putting my kids into that school for the Christian education that they would receive. :thumb: And also, I am a huge proponent of the voucher system where parents could use the voucher to help offset the cost of tuition at private schools.

Emma Talley should be the favorite for individual title while Lydia Gumm, Emily Haas, and Megan Wilshire will give her a run as best they can.

For HS students, how does that fit in with the KHSAA requirement for a legal change of residence if you transfer?

Which ones? Bracken down the AA can be in Wilder (movie theater) in about 20 minutes. Pendleton, from Butler it takes me about 25 minutes to Wilder (movie theater). Other parts of PC are 10 minutes from Independence. Grant County via some backroads and it would be around some 30 minutes. Now obviously if a person lived in PC on the Harrison County line, that would be different. Or in Bracken County on the Mason County line.

Calvary Christian is fielding a team this year and only sat out last year from the varsity level. As far as huge geographical area, isn't that what happens at Lex Christian and Lex Catholic. The Chowning girl at LC, from my recollection, lived in Berea. That is about an hour drive, one way. From Grant, Bracken, Pendleton it would be a 30-minute drive to CC. For Boone, Campbell, Kenton for most of those counties it would be 15-20 minutes at tops. I live in one of the rural counties and 5-6 years ago gave serious consideration and looked into a teaching job at Calvary and taking my children with me. There are times that I believe I made the wrong decision to not do it. I would hazard a guess that Christians (I am talking mainly Protestants here) who take their faith seriously are upset with the public schools and wouldn't mind sending their children to a Christian, non-Catholic setting.

Calvary? They could draw from Grant, Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Pendleton and Bracken without too much of an issue at all. St. Pat could draw from Mason, Fleming, Lewis, Bracken, Harrison, Nicholas, Robertson and OHIO without to much trouble at all. Why is location an issue?

That would be a very good comparison to what a Calvary Christian could do in the NKY area and St. Patrick could do in the Maysville area.

None of the other areas in the state have this. Unless you want to count the UK Wildcats as a successful pro sports team.
