Trainers off field at nine Louisville high schools during contract talks

Nine Louisville high school athletic programs have been without trainers since Monday while Jefferson County Public Schools and the Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team work out contract details

We have a trainer that shows up on one afternoon a week after school. Trainers are not at practices for the sports teams. Coaches handle all of those duties of dealing with injuries, taping, handling players, rehabbing in most rural counties.

Trinity always has an AT on hand as far as I know. I know that personally, I'm very grateful for that.

Most of the schools in EKY don't have trainers at practices. It is unfortunate that the Coaches are expected to do those duties as well as Coach.

Bell County has one everyday I think. Or at least 3 days a week and on game nights.

Baptist Hospital Northeast supplies a trainer for all three Oldham County high schools at no cost to the school system... :thumb:
