mcpapa Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Play currently suspended due to weather conditions, according to the link: http://www.golfstatresults.com/public/index.cfm?tournament_id=1776
jahearme Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 They have cancelled play today and will shotgun start at 7:00 Saturday morning. Talk about a LONG day of golf tomorrow!
NYmoney33 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Yes, that much is true ONE long day of golf.:eek::eek:
ladiesbballcoach Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Emmay Talley wrapping up her 2nd straight state title AND THEN SHE SIGNED AN INCORRECT SCORECARD!!!! DQ'd from the tournament. Lindsay Gahm from Sacred Heart is handed the individual title while Green County wins the team title.

It's pretty amazing, though, that a 10th grader has been competing at the top for so long, and that she was in the making for back-to-back championships.

kysportsfan4life Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 http://westkentuckystar.com/News/State/Kentucky/Incorrect-Scorecard-Costs-Talley-Golf-Title Glad she did the right thing and turned herself in, but it just serves as a lesson to always check the score cards before signing. That's something that's stressed that many young golfers don't pay attention to, because they don't think it will happen or matter, but, especially on the last hole when you've been playing all day and are finally finishing up or realize you've captured another state title, it is easy to write down a wrong score or sign a score card without looking.
TonyDanza Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Hate to hear this happened to this young lady. However what a noble thing to do once she realized what she had done. Best of luck to her in the future.

Best of luck to her in the future. She WILL win the state tournament again. Knowing Emma, I wouldn't expect anything less from her. She's a super golfer, but she's an even better person.

ballerm Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 A classy young lady for sure! I feel so bad for her and the golfer that scored her. But you are given only one reputation and once that is tarnished you can not get it back. Emma, if I could say one thing to you it would be that you should be proud of yourself for what you did and in my mind you were the champion based upon your golf skills and your sense of integrity.
The Scribe Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I cant believe that each golfer doesnt keep their own card at the state championshop event. The KHSAA needs to re-look at that. I'm not insinuating anything about the person in the group who kept the lone score card for the group, but that has to be changed.
jahearme Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 On the scorecards provided at the state tournament there is a place on the bottem for each player to keep their own score. In fact, it's on a perferrated edge that the player can tear off and "match up" their scorecard when they are finished. From what I gather, Emma simply made a mistake. It happens all the time. It just happened at a really bad time for Emma. I cant believe that each golfer doesnt keep their own card at the state championshop event. The KHSAA needs to re-look at that. I'm not insinuating anything about the person in the group who kept the lone score card for the group, but that has to be changed.
