Johnson Central's getting a new stadium when this season ends. Its going to have the sport turf surface like Belfry/Pikeville and Shelby Valley. I've heard it may seat as many as 6000-7000. As soon as an artist rendering is released I'll try to get it posted.

This will be a great game. Both teams are very close and its really going to be a toss-up. Greenup might have a slight edge since it is at home, but my gut tells me Boyd in a close one.

This will be one great football game and the atmosphere will be electric. Should be a record crowd at the nest. Man, I can't wait! Is it only Monday???

I've heard that Belfry and Ironton are possible match-ups on next years schedule.

I think top to bottom the starting 11 in 2000 may have been better athletes. Bi strong backs and a great line. This years team is not hardly that good, but it is much deeper. the 2006 team has 6 or 7 backs to use that are all pretty close. I think that this team is more hardnosed than the 2000 team. As for the question, who would win in a head to head match-up. I like the 2006 team. This determination is based soley on the system that is run. Bill Musicks offense was a rather simple 3 to4 yards in a cloud of dust. If you get behind your in trouble. Coach Matney's system is a better offense.

A 3A, Region 4, District 8 team in eastern KY. And this was meant as a joke, not a shot at any team.......geez they're are alot of sensitive people out there. We get alot of shots taken at us because of our schedule. I was not hinting at anything else.

Boyd has a pretty nice looking team, and some good athletes. They made several mistakes againts us that reallt hurt them, but they have the potential to beat alot of teams. I think Coach Evans is getting them were they need to be just in time for the playoffs. Congrats Boyd on a nice win and good luck this week at Ashland!

Belfry has a great coaching staff and they improve every week. When some were counting them out early I said that they will be there at the end and they are starting to show their power. I think they are maybe now the favorite from the east. I watched Russell and I think Belfry is a more complete team. Now......I still think Mercer is the team to beat in 2A.

Maybe if Johnson Central would bring them in it would silence some of the critics we have regarding our scheduling.................

I've said it before and I'll say it again......it's very hard to beat a good team twice in the same season. JC better be on top of their game or it could be a long night!

Has Bell's offense been sluggish or have the teams they played like Leslie and Corbin, had great defensives?

I hope not, but we're just an also-ran until we knock off someone with some clout(like a Rockcastle/Bell/Highlands or Cov. Cath.) I wished that some of the JC fans that get on here and make all these bold comments would remember that nobody has ever won a state championship because the talked a good game!

You're exactly right! I think Coach Matney even made that comment on his radio show last week.

Remember the year that Lawrence County killed everyone around here and played Highlands for the right to play in the title game. The score was like 70-45 or something. Now I don't know if Highlands is as good as that team or if Central is as good as L.C. was that year. But we had better give Highlands all the respect in the world!
