What's the status of the Sheldon Clark job? Who is being considered? Any big names?

I think Paintsville would have to be close to the top.

Everything we've said about JC is true. But until we can get by the teams from NKY, they have to be the favorite.

Johnson Central has a very good team. They've beaten 2 top ten teams in Boyd Co. and Butler. I think they could make some noise come playoffs.

I beleive this is the second top 10 team in the state the Eagles have knocked off this year.

I was impressed by the play of some of the younger linemen. I think Coach Burchett will have some really big kids to work with this year. There are a couple of freshmen that are just massive, 6'3' - 6'4" and over 300 lbs that can move pretty well. And your right, the returning talent looked really good. J.K. Ratliff had some nice plays as did Chase Richardson. Dennis Dillion played really well at QB and D. End.

Yeh! I'd say so. But they'll be used. We are just a public school after all.

Coach Triplett did do a good job. He was brought in to a no win situation. I'd like to see back on the sidelines at Ironton, but when the time is right. Its not now!

Cudo's to the Administration and Football Booster at Johnson Central. They purchased really nice rings for all of the coaches and football players for their District, Regional Championships and State Semi-Finals appearance. They are really sharp.

Your history lesson may be accurate, but the point was that if we had classifications as some have proposed many historical match-ups would have never taken place. The fact is that only Ashland is remembered as the state champs that year. Not a class A and B champions.

Definately the best in any high school arena. I'm pretty sure that Kentucky is the only state that still uses the single champion format.

Absolutely Not! Kentucky High School Basketball is what it is because of this format. If we would have had classes the great legendary battles like the Carr Creek vs. Ashland games would not still be talked about 70 years later or teams like Paintsville winning it all. Keep it the way it is. I think over the course of time talent migrates. The mountains have had years when it was extremely competitive on the state scene, even with some of the small schools. The larger schools in the more populated areas are having a run right now. I congratulate their hardwork, but we shouldn't use it as an excuse to change the greatest show in high school sports.

I think you've got a handful of really good teams in the 15th and I think the 15th will be pretty competetive outside of the region this year. Johnson Central Paintsville Pikeville Allen Central Lawrence County Belfry should all be pretty good.
