That's not totally true: The Maroons had their best-ever football season during my time in Somerset!

 

And, SW got to state in baseball, and their softball team scored one of its biggest wins ever in the district over top-five North Laurel.

 

I couldn't help the Briar Jumpers much, however, and I confess there seemed to be a reverse charm on SL last season in VB.

 

My lucky charm status has also fit in other cases:

 

South Laurel FB had its best season in many years my first full FB season there. Heck, I hadn't lived there a week and NL FB nearly upset eventual state runner-up Scott Co. in the playoffs!

 

SL girls hoops got to the semifinals of the state tourney, falling to LexCath.

 

Three straight state tourney trips for SL softball.

 

SL baseball got to state for the first time in many years.

 

 

 

Clearly, I'm the reason for the improvement.
