Woodford Co. 43 Johnson Central 22
I agree! I think it is partly the our (the fans) fault for building the kids up a little to high. But to come onto a field in a game of this magnitude and give that kind of effort just boggles my mind! I want to try and rationalize it by saying that we are still living off of last year, but I don't know.

Woodford Co. 43 Johnson Central 22
Cogratulations to Woodford Co! They came prepared and were definatley ready to play. Great game by Duckworth and Lewis. I was very impressed with this team. Definately the best team on Friday night no debate. As for JC.......this was the worst play I've seen from a JC team since the N. Laurel game in 2004. They had no intensity and no desire. Its time for some senior leadership. They need to reach deep down inside and check to see if they really want to make the commitment to do what it takes to win.

Johnson Central 14 Wheelersburg, OH 3
Thank You! Wheelersburg was a really, really good team. Very quick and very, very, very aggressive. Man there were some hits layed in that game. It was an awesome atmosphere for high school football. My hats off to the team, coaching staff and fans. They never gave up and I think a game like that really helps both teams down the road. I look forward to keeping this series going.

Johnson Central vs Wheelersburg, OH Predictions
Wheelersburgs fullback is a transfer from Ironton....... but he's hardly 300lbs. I'd say more along the lines of 175-180lbs. He is a nice powerful runner though and I think this should be a great game. I believe you'll see a huge crowd Friday night at Wheelersburg. Good luck Eagles!

Johnson Central vs Wheelersburg, OH Predictions
Wheelersburg runs a spread style offense out of mostly a pro-set. Against Ironton they threw the ball a good bit (probably more than they run it). They had 3 and 4 receiver split most of the night. They looked to be a little undersized, but extremely quick and hardnosed. They have a potential D-1 quarterback that is very similar to Ratliff in size and arm strength. They have a nice looking RB that transfered from Ironton that is a really good runner. Overall I think Johnson Central may be a little better, but they've definately not played really well yet this season. This game is a toss-up.

Conner/Johnson Central Predictions (Touchstone Energy Bowl)
I can tell you that JC is prepared for a war.....not a cakewalk!

Johnson Central @ South Point, OH Predictions
I think the South Point people did this to maximize their gate and crowd. With most local games being played on Friday night, they hope that with JC being a pretty good out of state team, it will encourage coaches and fans from other local schools to come out and support the in state Pointers. A friend of mine is South Point says its being played up as a border war. They are expecting an overflow crowd for this game. Should be a great atmosphere for a high school football game.

Hardest hitting Defenses in 2007?
Johnson Central is usually pretty physical!
-
Who will be Mr. Football 2007?
I agree! But, outside of JC playing in and winning the state championship and Shawn having a huge run in the playoffs. His shot at doing this is very slim.
-
Who Has The Toughest Schedule?
Cov. Cath once again has a brutal schedule. Highlands has a very tough schedule. I agree that Louisville Central is playing one of the tougher schedules in the state. Johnson Central really stepped it up this year and is playing a much tougher schedule. But it would be hard to call who has the toughest.

Johnson Central High School's New Field pictures
When the visitor and home stands are both complete it will be between 5,000 and 6,000. The visitor side should be completed before this season begins, but the home side will not be started until after the season is over.

Lawrence County 4 Johnson Central 1
Congratulations LC on a well played game and a great season so far. Good luck in the Regional Tourney. Maybe we'll see each other again.
-
Johnson Central 8 Paintsville 5
Congrats on a great win Eagles! I think its sad that probably the 2 top teams in the district have to play in the opening round. These were 2 great baseball teams and both deserved to be playing in the regional tourney.

OFFICIAL: Zornes to Boyd Co.
Zornes can flat-out coach. He's been a winner everywhere he's been. I'm sure he'll have Boyd right where he wants them in no time.

Team Entrances
Smoke flowing out of the tunnel, running on the field to "2001" and just as the music reaches it pinnacle a canon fires and the band breaks into the school fight song. It is an awesome entrance. ELECTRIC!

Former Greenup County Coach to take over Southern Ohio sleeper!
Randy Ward who coached Basketball at Greenup County for 20+ years has just been hired to take over Coal Grove, Ohio's basketball program. The Hornets were winless last year, but Ward is looking forward to the challenge of raising a team from the ashes. Ward leaves Portsmouth Clay to take the Coal Grove job where he took a team that had only won 3 games and in his 4 years played in 3 distict and 2 sectional championships. Wards Clay team was 17-11 this past year.
