District-5-3- Doss, Iroquois, John Hardin, Waggener

District-5-4- Anderson County, Grant County, Jeffersontown, Oldham County, South Oldham

District-5-5- Covington Catholic, Dixie Heights, Highlands, Holmes, Scott

District-5-6- Ashland Blazer, Bryan Station, Johnson Central, Montgomery County, Woodford County

District-5-7- Lincoln County, Mercer County, Pulaski County, South Laurel, Southwestern

District-5-8- Clay County, Letcher County Central, North Laurel, Perry County Central, Whitley County

2. Covington Catholic

3. Highlands

I am guessing at the order, but I think the top three are pretty sold and above the rest.

I'd venture to say that either Hopkinsville, Christian Co or Owens Sr will be a top 10 team, possibly all 3...

I would put J.C. and Dixie in front of Mercer Co............:thumb:

As far as I'm concerned, Mercer hasnt proved anything. A 2A championship for a 5A school shouldnt make them a top 5 team.

Rankings are great but when it comes down to it the only thing that matters is the playoffs so...

Those are the match ups according to the KHSAA website. Unless I read it wrong.

Some weak Districts out there, but over all Class 5A should be exciting to watch all year long.

I don't know how you can rank Mercer over CovCath and Highlands. Mercer has not play in anyway close to the competition that they will face in 5A. Remember, they won a championship last year beating 2A opponents. The top 5 should be

1. Highlands

2. CovCath

3. Bowling Green

4. Warren Central

5. Johnson Central

One thing is for sure you can use Hoptown as a good measuring stick in 5A this year, they play Highlands, Warren Central, Mercer, and Lincoln County this season.

This is an honest question, does everyone really think CCH is going to be that good? Personally, I just don't see it...
