All I can hope for is that one of the players has not made this dumb prediction that Russell cannot loose. Because they can as you have indicated. I would say that Russell should do well this year but that is not what this thread is about. It's about how Greenup will do. I like Greenups chances this year and wish them nothing but the best. I don't think they will win the first game of the season but after that game I see them doing very well. Good luck.

I think Greenup will have an outstanding season this year. They showed at the end of the year that they can play some consistant football. I wish them nothing but the best.

If I understand this right a team could still go 0-10 and make the playoffs. I think that part should have been fixed.

It's called Power and it will give someone else a chance to play in the big game. I see it as being a good thing for everyone.

I think in 3-A Central, Mason, Breathitt, Belfry, Russell, Tilghman, could bet any one of the other on any given night. You not only have to be good in 3-A you also have to have some luck bounce your way. Central will be the favorite until another team proves otherwise. This is why 3-A is so exciting. Unlike 6-A where we already know who will be playing in the Championship game.

My opinion on the subject is that if a Coach or the Administration knowingly violate the rules it is cheating. I find it very hard to believe that a Head Coach would do such a thing. If one were to Knowingly, and with malace violate the rules they should be terminated. Period. I hate dishonest people.

Maybe your source needs to let Ironton and Raceland know that they will be playing. I don't think they are aware that they will be playing. Are you sure your source was not refering to Russell playing Ironton in 2009?

I thought you had to have two mountains to have one hollow. We have all kinds of Hollows. We have Barker Hollow, Pancake hollow, McCoy hollow just to name a few. Now tell me how can you have a hollow without two mountains?

As much as I like Raceland I don't think this would be a good idea. Raceland would be way overmatched playing Ironton. Wait and see what they do to Russell in 2009 and that just might change the minds of some. Don't think for a minute that because of what happened to Ironton last year will last very long. The coach is back and the players will be back also. In speaking to some of the Ironton faithful Ironton will be back in two years. I just don't understand how some could think that Raceland is going to beat Ironton when no one else in Kentucky can get it done.

If you did not drink so much before the game you would not have that problem. Easy on the orange stuff. I did like the Johnny on the spots at Raceland. They are nice and kozy.

I would have to take Trinity 35 Highlands 7. I know the Highlands faithful wanted to hear us say that Highlands would win the game. Going undefeated is a great accomplishment. Now just be glad that you did not play Trinity because you may not have been the only undefeated team.

I just hope the AP guys are the ones that select the team. West might have a chance then.

I would like to see some support given to someone other than a Quarterback or Runningback. There has to be at least one lineman in the state of Kentucky good enough to be considered for Mr. Football.

It is very hard to win a Championship as we all know. I agree that Russell should have a good team this coming season. I would agree that Cordle is the real deal. I hope he works out during the off season to put on some weight.

Air it out??? I really don't think so. I see russell running the ball with the three running backs coming back. I would agree that Cordle is an excellent passer and I think we will see him show his talents.

I would love to see Russell play Belfry early during the regular season. I think it could be a good measuring stick to see how good they are. It is always fun to go to the CAM. I know Russell picked up Ironton for 2009 and Belfry would be great for 2010 and stop playing Raceland.

I would have to agree with all the players that Belfry has coming back. I was surprised at just how they dismantled Breathitt. I think had Russell been playing them instead of Breathitt we would have seen the same result. I really don't see any change next year.

It may be because of the heat we had last year. I just wish they would start the games later in the evening instead of moving the date back. But what do I know.

I'm not going to get to excited about it. We have had public schools and private schools for a long time. 25 years from now we will all be talking about the same old stuff. Personally I could care less if a kid had all of his tuition paid and he player QB, as long as that individual comes out with a good education and it sounds like that is whats going on at Trinity. Very smart kids. I really have no dog in this fight. My Russell Red Devils do just fine. I do not like playing two schools at the same time although. Mercer/Harrodsburg. I thought that stunk. Exactly my point. I would doubt if many on here would know where the money goes. If they did know they probable cannot or will not open up that box. If I were a gambling man I would say that it goes to athletes and not displaced tuba players. I was not aware that Trinity had a French Scrabble team. We need to start one at Holy Family. I don't think it will be tuition free although. Wow $900,000.00. I know where I would put the money. More Footballs.

In reading through the posts it still apprears that the Public school fans see it one way and the private see it another. I guess if you are a private school and obtaining a state championship every year is fairly good why would you want to change and if you are a public school who gets beat down year afgter year by a private school why would you not want change. I think what I would like to know is? What is the percentage of kids that go to Private school and are on financial support of some sort play sports and recieve the financial support because they are expected to play sports. I know that finding out who is on finacial support is kept a secrete at many schools at least the one that I support it's kept confidential. If that percentage is high than I think the private schools are doing something inappropriate. If the percent is low then I think what they are doing is good. They are helping all kids out and are not doing it to gain an unfair advantage. I just have a feeling that that percent may be higher than we would expect.
