I think Kentucky based on how many High Schools we have should go to one Championship game for the entire state. That way making the playoffs would really be an accomplishment.

This is why I moved to this state. We do things like no one else. We are Pioneers. You would think that after all the rucus that has been made with the selection process they would all get together so they no longer would look like fools. NOPE

I have always said if you are going to do something that effects the lives of others you had better do it the best you can. If anyone thinks for one minute that these selections don't mean anything to the kids think again. We all know who does the best job in selecting an all state team. BGP of course. They take their time. Have lots of input. They argue with each other. ECT. So why do we care what some sports reporter from Louisville or Covington or Ashland thinks? Because we like seeing our name in the paper. It's human nature. We don't take into consideration that the guy making this list of players may be biased, having a bad day, hates Highlands, or wants to make his cronies happy.

Once again Congratulations to the Central football team. I truely beleived Belfry would win.

Can you tell us who is on the final ballot?

I really don't know much about Breathitt except for when they played Russell. In my opinion Channing was the best player on the field that night. It took 4 or 5 Devils to bring him down not just on one play but everytime he touched the ball. He will be feared next year by most teams.

Of course he should be.

I very proud that Tyler Jones of Russell making all state honorable mention at linebacker. That's very good considering he is a defensive end. I although can see how the coaches could confuse him with a linebacker. Jones was a great defensive player who could put a hurt on a running back. Played like a linebacker.

I personally think you are wrong. Any team that plays Breathitt knows what they can do to you. I saw them beat aguable the best team Russell (2002)fielded in the past ten years in O/T. Then go on to beat Corbin 52-0. I think when people talk about great teams Breathitt is in the conversation.

Congratulations to those teams for there hard work. It pays off.

You have some very good points that I agree with. I'm not anti- sportswriters. They do a great job reporting in there area. They do a poor job with the AP poll. I think they have made some outstanding selections for Mr. Football even though some kids are eliminated based on the area of the state they play in. I have spoken to several of the AP guys about this and they have no idea who the kids are outside there reporting area. I don't hold that against them. They get paid to report on the kids in their area.

Exactly my point. Who cares. Now if no one from Highlands makes the BGP all state team. I THINK WE HAVE A CONSPIRACY.

What I really find the oddest about the whole thing! Why would you even care what one person thinks? Highlands made some great accomplishments this year. We all no that. I'm sure Highlands will be well represented when the BGP all state team is announced. Birdsfan. When you mention who you would put in at linebacker it is assumed that you have to take the kid that made the team off the list that was selected at linebacker. Now I just used linebacker as an example. I'm talking any position.

Why can't we just congratulate the players that made it and leave it at that. Why is it always my Johnny was better than your Johnny. Anyone who would put in writing that someone should be taken off the list to put theirs on the list needs to get a life. Merry Christmas Everyone.

Has anyone heard anything on this selection?

California actually has 2079 High Schools in California including the private high schools. With three divisions that would mean that your team must be better than approximately 692 schools to win a state Championship. Now lets see here. In Kentucky we have 6 divisions and 200 schools. Now that would be approximately 32 schools that you would need to be better than to win a state championship. Before you jump on me I realize that the divisions are not even across the board and these are just averages. I'm sorry but I just absolutely hate how Kentucky has watered the playoffs down.

Living in California most of my life I always thought the playoff system was the greatest. You don't make the playoffs unless you have a good team. Unlike Kentucky where a team can loose all their games and still make the playoffs. I like it when you earn a spot in the playoffs.

Okay BOOGER, Now who would you remove so that these guys can replace them?

I have a hunch that the AP guys are just not into it this year. That was evident by their poll each week.

So many times we as fans point fingers at the officials in an attempt to justify a loss. Keep in mind a great football team should be able to overcome a bad call. The Refs are human and in my opinion do a great job. Yes they make errors. That is all part of the game. I for one appreciate and want to thank them for yet another great season of High School football in this beautiful state of Kentucky. Thanks, Jeepman
