Ryan has earned that award, and I'm awful proud of him!:thumb:

LB Jared Carpenter of BGHS made First Team on defense as well. In a selfless move, he was slated to play DB before the season started, but Coach Wallace needed him more at ILB this year. It paid off for the team and him personally! I'm proud of Jared as well!!:thumb:

Congrats to all the players that recieved this award. Being from NK I hope this doesnt sound like sour grapes, but do the people who vote on this ever get out of the office? I have never seen such a logistcly lopsided outcome, unless it is always like this, I dont know first year follwing KY all state. I am sure the boys that were voted in,were well deserving, but tell me how NKY can place three teams in the finals, if you include Boone in the round before, thats 4 teams, take two titles and have this outcome. Who votes on this, I dont have a clue, maybe someone can enlighten me

It totally kills me...HHS had the best defense in the state and there are only two kids mentioned from 1st team through honorable mention...ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!!! Joe Fitzgerald probably averaged 15-20 tackles a game and didn't even get a sniff....:irked::irked::irked::irked:

Coaches were asked to vote for the best players they had seen at each position, and they couldn't vote for their own players. Each coach submitted one ballot choosing all 24 positions. All four of the top vote-getters were named on ballots as defensive players.

 

More than 95 percent of the ballots were cast before the state finals.

Sounds to me like more northern Kentucky coaches need to vote. If I remember right, the same thing happened in basketball season and the NKY people were uptight about that vote also

I would think that the coaches know the best players.

The Herald-Leader's selections were disappointing, but I really had high hopes for the CJ. Wow....:eek:
