Congrats to Colby Fugate QB and Jade Haddix DB from Breathitt Co.on making the list.Thought Channing Fugate RB would have made it also.

Why edit your post? Go ahead and let it be known how you really feel. I'm sure #24 is down about not winning the state title, but I doubt he's worried about how many honorable mention all-state guards blocked him at Highlands while he's playing in the Big 10.

I was more impressed with the hard hitting of #9 on the Purples squad in the state finals. Also, #34 was more prevalent in the game than #24. But as previously mentioned... I only saw one Purple game this year!

Congrats to Jared Carpenter all the same. Your work will be cut out for you at MSU. Good luck and best wishes for a great academic opportunity.

Any one think that a kid the had 8 INTs on the year as a corner should at least be recognized as honorable mention?

Of course he should be.

I very proud that Tyler Jones of Russell making all state honorable mention at linebacker. That's very good considering he is a defensive end. I although can see how the coaches could confuse him with a linebacker. Jones was a great defensive player who could put a hurt on a running back. Played like a linebacker.

He played linebacker against Greenup County in Week 1.

I really don't know much about Breathitt except for when they played Russell. In my opinion Channing was the best player on the field that night. It took 4 or 5 Devils to bring him down not just on one play but everytime he touched the ball. He will be feared next year by most teams.

Do you have the 3A -District 8 list? Thanks, CoachB

Here are the players from class 4A - District 8 who made All-State...

MSU??? Jared is attending Northwestern.

Of course he should be.

Well the kid with 8 INTs wasn't even considered to my knowledge. 8 picks as a corner is tough.......alot tougher than at safety where you have room to roam.........it's a shame this kid didn't get recognized

Congrats to Cole on his 2nd straight 1st team appearance. If you read the article it says that he finished 2nd nationally in career recieving yards and 3rd in career TDs. Thats pretty good.

It just gets old that kids with similiar stat lines get snubbed because they are not on the top teams or teams with poor records or on a team with a kid going to a big name school. There are kids that are running for the same yards behind lines avg. height and weights of 5'7, 165-170 lbs. Etc., etc., etc. I stop now, wasting energy.

It's a shame that other kids from a school that has a first teamer like Cole don't get any recognition. Somerset had several kids that could have at least made honorable mention. Defensive end at Wayne County makes it but the D-end at Somerset who dominated as a tight end over him head to head all night doesn't even get a bone? Come on the Megargel kid (#11) was the leading or second leading tackler on his team playing a 3-4 scheme, being doubled teamed every play. Most teams ran away from him even then. He's playing at the next level at either WKU, Miami OH, EKU or Georgetown. May even throw his hat as a walk on at Louisville. He's 6'5" and only 210 with speed and a high motor. Opposing coaches knew who he was, I guess not the ones who voted. Sorry CJ, you were robbed.
