I was messing with you guys accross town. You have a great program and it is hard to match up with your loyalty to your kids and fans. We all want our kids form all 3 schools to do well on and off the field. I hope that there are alot more kids that follow the Cole, Megargel, Blair, Sexton, Woolridge, Gumm, Jones, on and on etc. kids from the area and play at the next level. I know that there are alot of basketball hopefuls that play around here but as you can see, football produces more scholarships and opportunities. I think that PC will have 2 that go on this year, Somerset has 3-4, and I don't know what SW has this year but they always get 2-3 a year on the average.

Your banquet this year must have been 30 minutes or so which included the year in review highlight film.:madman::jump:

Wideopen, can you see him in a 4-3 scheme instead of the 3-4 where he basically was double-teamed as a tackle? He's fast for a big guy and that will help his game.

I can name 2 from Pulaski County.... Winston Hines PC and a sophomore to watch Derrick Jackson of Somerset.

He could have played in the OVC as well as future teamate Megargel from Somerset. Both were looked at very closely at EKU but after the coach left so went the desire to go there. Let's see, a degree from EKU or Georgetown? Who said football players don't have the smarts? Maybe some of those OVC boys can work for these guys one day.:banana:

Dustin May made a great decision, here's why.... 1 Was he going D-1 to an SEC or top tier program? Probably not but he is a very good player and could have gone to a WKU or similar. 2. He get's an outstanding education and plays for a playoff bound, possibly national championship contender. 3. If you are a stud and want to get maximum playing time AND want a profession, could there not be many others with the above credentials. I see some special days ahead for him and his TIGER teamates.

No offense to any KY coach or programs but the level of talent (overall) and competition in Florida is mindboggling. If you can compete and win at the state level there, your ready for 90% of the jobs in KY. Good luck in landing one. I lived there 10 years and it was amazing the number of D-1 players just in the Orlando area. I once remembered Orlando Evans HS having every O lineman and 2 backups getting D-1 scholarships. Their size was bigger than the Washington Redskins (avg.320) that year and the highest recruit off of that team was Orlando Pace (Ohio St./St. Louis Rams). It's tough to compete with that.

How can you dis your kids' fathers like that? You're starting to act like those Southwestern fans now. We at PC have more respect than that for our football family. Of course you say that you're only kidding but words like that can cause disharmony. From what I heard, CJ gets his inherent good looks from his father's side of the family:thumb:.

I agree, Dustin May is a great player and will be outstanding at the next level.

Hey Somersetfootball, It won't be like Madden on Xbox 360, but should be humorous given they're friends and played so well together. Life can be funny.

Maroons will surprize the Rock. They will be confident and still hungry after the success this past year. It will be fun to watch.

Is it true that Dustin May is headed to Georgetown as well? It appeared in the Lexington Herald this morning under Georgertown signees. If so, look out Mid-South the Tigers are loading up for another quality class to go with a great returning team. I know it's NAIA but there will be some great matchups and games in our backyards!!!!

Wow! Dustin May has signed with Georgetown. (According to Lex Herald) There are some fine football players at Tigerland. Congrats to a fine young man.

Can someone tell me about the Ball kid from Highland's since he's going to Georgetown? What does he play? Size?

John Cole, Somerset's answer to Tom Brady's Welker, made it official by signing with Vanderbilt today. Great talent with stats unmatched by any Kentucky receiver will bring his talent to Commonwealth Stadium only twice over the next 4 years. The Boyd kid from Henry Clay and John Cole would have been fun to watch, but that's how it goes. Congrats for a tremendous career in Kentucky HS football, you'll be missed.

C J Megargel (#11) signed his letter this morning to play at Georgetown next year. Congrats to a fine football player who has the tenacity of a tiger and the heart of a lion. He's 6'5" 220 and hits like a hammer, probably a DE for the Tigers.....good motor and plays full tilt. Look out Mid-south, the list of Tigers is pretty stout and athletic.

It's a shame that other kids from a school that has a first teamer like Cole don't get any recognition. Somerset had several kids that could have at least made honorable mention. Defensive end at Wayne County makes it but the D-end at Somerset who dominated as a tight end over him head to head all night doesn't even get a bone? Come on the Megargel kid (#11) was the leading or second leading tackler on his team playing a 3-4 scheme, being doubled teamed every play. Most teams ran away from him even then. He's playing at the next level at either WKU, Miami OH, EKU or Georgetown. May even throw his hat as a walk on at Louisville. He's 6'5" and only 210 with speed and a high motor. Opposing coaches knew who he was, I guess not the ones who voted. Sorry CJ, you were robbed.

From what I know, it mostly is comprised of what would be 1-A & 2-A football sized schools. However, with the influx of prep schools like Rose Hill & University Heights, plus the smaller Christian & Catholic schools the number of teams is probably around 70-75. Any more participants and it will lose its flavor because it is for the schools that rarely see a shot at Rupp. It is a pretty good tourny overall and it doesn't need any more larger schools to make it an early state tourney. I do think that the teams should have players from Kentucky playing and not W. Virginia, Ohio & others that come for Prep school b-ball. Just MHO.

Somerset's team looked more aggressive than in year's past. Look out, they actually played man to man "D" and did fairly well. The scarey team that came back on Dunbar in the 4th period included Bourne, Wallen, Price, Coomer, & Megargel... 6'5", 6'3", 6'3", 6'3" & 6'4" respectively....and VERY strong physically & athletic. They actually looked like they handled the ball better at that point because they played within their limits. 2 of the 5 practiced only twice since football. Look out 12th, if this bunch stays and plays together as a team they will be tough. They have a pretty strong bench as well. The starters included Fitzpatrick & Dockery...2 quick and aggressive guards. From the bench they have Hughes, Waddle, Kelly & soon to be Shoemaker who isn't bad and very athletic (6'3") and are all seniors. Dockery is a junior. The Maroons, Rebels, Rockets and Warriors will have their hands full to beat these guys.

Somerset was a better team then Breathitt and the score reflected that. I saw Breathitt play and said this one would turn out like it did.
