  1. Four of 11 posts are about SW vs. Cawood. Are the Warriors that hard up that they have to get on Somerset's posts all the time? Good luck Jumpers, it won't be easy because this is the final regular game for Cawood as a school. That being said and the game is in the mountains, look out!
  2. How will Cawood match up this week against Somerset?
  3. Proud to Be Marooned!!:thumb: Nice Game Lincoln but we'll be BACK.
  4. I believe that your statement is accurate. Every game is different but it does help to know that you've beaten teams in the past and that gives you a level of confidence in knowing that you're not intimidated by a team. This game will be a good and physical one. Each team possesses alot of talent. Good luck to all and hopefully everyone will be healthy coming out of the game's outcome. These two teams could make some noise in the playoffs in their respective classes.
  5. I totally agree!!!:ylsuper: I'd like to be there this year and see 2 games with local talent PC & SHS. Sorry SW you're not invited to the dance.:sssh:
  6. Let me clear the air here. Most everyone thinks that Corbin is unbeatable in this game. I WAS BEING SARCASTIC and I apologize that it was misunderstood. Obviously Somerset has played some weaker teams but that is what does happen in any district play. SHS has done a good job of taking care of those opponents that they should beat and did it efficiently. Against better teams they played well as well. If my sources are right, Corbin knows that they will be in a game at Somerset because they have played each other at different levels (JV, Middle School, etc.) and Somerset has come at on top more times than not when they did meet (these same kids). Cashen is a great QB but an ever improving Hall might surprize the Hounds. The SHS defense is better as well and there are some top notch players at Somerset. Yes Hounds fans, you'll have to play on all cylinders to get out of Somerset with a W.
  7. WAKE UP:sleep:Wake Up:sleep: NIce Dream:scared: First, Breathitt wins at home regularly but they won't beat Belfry or Somerset at their respective confines and may not get the chance against a good Russell or Mason team. Of course, IMO.
  8. It gets sooooooooooooooo ooooooold. Give the Jumpers their due. They are a small school that plays pretty good football, end of discussion on that. Now Corbin is so good that they'll handle John Cole without any problem by doubling up on him. Somerset doesn't have anybody else that can play. They have no defense, no special teams and they play a bunch of nobodies. Corbin, just bring the JVs because your district is so good and you went through them without a glitch. I feel sorry for Somerset. I heard that they aren't practicing this week because they know they don't have a chance.
  9. Look Jumper Dad I always have supported you when we didn't play each other and I still think that we will be in the hunt at the end. If we could only play Southwestern every week we wouldn't have any problems.:thumb: Lincoln was the better team TONIGHT but don't count us out yet. What does that do for the playoffs in the district with SL, SW, & Mercer? I haven't heard who's in or out. Can someone help me?
  10. Let me rephrase that.......I believe PC has what it takes as well and we CERTAINLY HAD what it took against SW!!!!
  11. I believe PC has what it takes as well and we certainly HAD it took against SW. Hopefully we can play again this year so we can HAVE AGAIN what it will take to get it done.:thumb:
  12. Strike, I hope the comment made above from me wasn't perceived as "attacking" because I'm a huge fan of Cole and his talent. It's always good to see kids from this area get big time offers because it helps all of the players get more respect from recruiters. SW, PC & SHS have some terrific athletes year in and out, this being no exception. I believe there are at least 3 or 4 other seniors from Somerset alone that could play on from this team at some level in college. PC is young but has a couple of seniors and I'm sure that SW's got a couple as well. For the record, Vandy liked Cole for his speed (he ran 4.3 or slightly better twice at the Vandy official visit), his academics and character, I'm sure. Kentucky will wish the had given him more attention but I think that Vandy still would have won out because he's going to school for the right reason, an education. He wasn't looking at Vandy & Stanford to get a championship ring. Best wishes to all of the county kids.....Go Maroons BEAT Lincoln!!!!!
  13. Don't y'all play Somerset next week. Isn't that an old rivalry that could be brought back? I think that game would be good every year. Maybe you can add Bell back in and get the momentum going. I hate to see old, established programs with great history take a downturn.
  14. I can't say the PC QB is a Brohm or Woodson but he's a special player. Remember the name Chris Muse. He's quick, smart and has all of the tools. He's a winner and a leader. He is a sophomore and look what he's doing this year at Pulaski! He started as a freshman and gets better each week. His arm strength is underrated but the people who have watched him are aware of his talent.
  15. Yea, when does SW and PC JVs play Somerset? It could be a good crowd producer any way you look at it.
  16. Here's an idea that would work. get the local cell phone companies to give away a year's worth of text messaging to a student fan at the game. They'll show up in numbers. It would cost a cell company about $75 for this service, and I'm sure that they wouldn't care to do it. The craziest fan each week wins! Watch the rowdy student section.:ylsuper::dancingpa:dancingpa
  17. Kids in general don't take much seriously these days. There is very little school spirit going around and it's reflective in the football crowds at many tradition rich programs. Kids have too many options and a community the size of Corbin (like we are in Pulaski County/Somerset) just filters the desire for the"spirit"that was common a generation ago. I have been to Danville and others and it's not just Corbin experiencing this. Another factor is the number of athletes playing different sports like soccer, volleyball, golf, cross country, and fall basketball/baseball, and do other activities that lessen the impact of Friday night lights. It won't change until the schools start "marketing" the games with promos that get the community back in the seats IMO. Alumni nights, Hall of Fame Inductions, One Price Family Nights, Corporate Promos, etc. will bring the numbers up. Once they experience the excitement again, it may change.
  18. As I've posted on other threads, Cole is special and would be outstanding at any class, district or team in KY. He has great speed, runs good routes, great hands, and is extremely dangerous when he has the ball in his hands. That said he will play SEC ball in the future but will his size prevent him from being durable enough to take the pounding week in and out? Jury will be out on that but he has the tools.
  19. MGEIII-4 Are you a Dallas Cowboys Fan? If so, that explanes your analysis of the PC/LC game. Go NE Patriots, not LC Patriots!!! Of course defense is something that PC has been building on and is improving. If Lincoln can't move the ball consistently, PC will score on them. IMO, PC's defense will be the key to their victory and I think they'll be up for the task.
  20. Just because SW couldn't do much against them doesn't mean much. Sw scored 24 against them so you don't think PC will as well? SW hasn't done much of anything this year against anybody (except SL). Even the win against Dunbar had 2 INTs for TD's. With Dunbar giving up 9 turnovers you would think that SW should have scored 50 points! I think Muse will find a way to win...it's just the way he leads. They will key on Hines but I don't know if they'll stop him all night. PC 27-Lincoln 20. It will be a good game to watch regardless.
  21. John Cole- Somerset Holds almost all of the Kentucky receiving records. Has to be in the running.
  22. Central should win going away. Dunbar lost to an average Southwestern team with 9 turnovers. Can't see Dunbar staying with Central.
  23. #22 at Boone and Detmer from Dixie were pretty good last night. How about that move on the sideline on #22's 50 yard TD? That kid from Dixie is still wondering what happened.
