I know you can look at stats on the KHSAA....Sometimes there some players out there that may not be leading the state, but still a darn good wide out. First one I would like to mention is a kid from Lewis County (3A). J.T. Britt ...he is leading the state in receptions (57 after 6 games) and not to far from first in receiving yards (780). Not bad considering he is on a struggling team. Britt's yards also came against some quality opponents (recently 12 receptions and 152 yards receiving verses Russell). Other quality teams they played are Mason County, Bath County and Fairview. This kid seems to play with a lot of heart. Good luck to J.T. the rest of the season. Who are some other quality receivers out there?

When I looked at the KHSAA site he has only 45 receptions.

That is because the stats hasn't been posted for this past Friday's game.

3A: John Cole, Somerset

5A: D.L. Moore, Bowling Green

6A: Aaron Boyd, Henry Clay

Cole is the best receiver in the state IMO any class. I know that is a strong statement but the kid had 4 touches in the first half (I believe first 3rd of the game) and 4 touchdowns last week, then sat out against a weak team. He probably would have had 6 or 7 if not. I've seen him take the short pass and turn it into a huge gain or touchdown. Great routes, great hands and is dangerous when he gets the ball. He could pad his stats more if they throw to him even more. He now has the all-time record in KY for TDs in a season and in a career, as well as single season yardage. He probably would have the most receptions but he turns too many catches into touchdowns.

 

His only drawback at the next level will be his size and potential durability in running crossing routes.

4A-Deron Hicks- Franklin Co. He is having a great year.:ylsuper:

81 Nick Barns for Lloyd, He is one of the best I have seen. Very strong receiver who can block doesn't drop anything. (Can any of the Jugg fans help me with his stats) He's not getting much time on the varsity level. But He had great numbers last year as a Freshman!

i heard that WR from danville is really good. good size too!! How is he doing this season??

For HHS, I like Jay "Big Play" Draper....6'2" / 190. Makes the tough catches and springs the big runs with crushing downfield blocks!

I don't know his name, but there is a young man at Etown High that is solid and putting up great numbers. I think his name is gorman or goman?

I agree, John is a phemon when it comes to catching the ball. John runs great routes and has had two very talented QB's getting him the ball these last thre years.

 

As far as size goes, he is as big as Dicky Lyons is or Derek Abney were and they seem to have had some SEC success.

Britt has nice hands and is a good reciever. The only thing is alot of those yards against Russell came against the JV and Freshmen. When the starters were in they strictly backed off and played a soft zone. I would assume that the same was the case with Mason, Bath and Fairview.
