That's not a nice thing to say about a high school kid.

4A Shawnta Zachary-Bell County (I really don't know much about other top recievers in 4A).

5A DL Moore-Bowling Green

6A Aaron Boyd-Henry Clay

Britt has nice hands and is a good reciever. The only thing is alot of those yards against Russell came against the JV and Freshmen. When the starters were in they strictly backed off and played a soft zone. I would assume that the same was the case with Mason, Bath and Fairview.

Well you know where assuming gets you. Apparently, you didn't watch the Russell v Lewis game to closely. Lewis had over 230 yards in the air verses Russell first team "D" in the first half. Britt caught a lot of those passes. The Lewis County offense has done that to a lot of their opponents....unfortunately for them they lose because they shoot themselves in the foot (on all sides of the ball) or depths gets to them. Usually they shoot themselves in the foot. :irked:

As for Britt, he is a VERY GOOD reciever. His stats may be slightly skewed though due to the fast break offense and the fact that due to the low number of players Lewis County has on the team, he has played alot of minutes against the subs from some other teams.

i heard that WR from danville is really good. good size too!! How is he doing this season??

 

Macon is a very talented player who is being looked at by several D1 schools. He doesn't have huge numbers this year due to the fact that Danville is such a run-oriented team. Personally, I'd like to see his talents utilized much more often on the offensive side of the ball. He's a pretty decent defensive back also.

I agree that Britt is a good reciever. My only point was the stats may be a little inflated because of the style of offense and circumstances where he has played agaist other teams subs.

 

We must have been watching different games though. The JV came in when it was 28-00 with 2:16 left in the 1st quarter. The starting offense did come back and play 2 series in the second quarter after Lewis scored. The starters also did come back in and play the first offensive and first defensive series of the 3rd quarter.

Macon is a stud! Tough to be a receiver on a Danville team. They haven't passed for over a decade! But this kid can play!:flame:

I know you can look at stats on the KHSAA....Sometimes there some players out there that may not be leading the state, but still a darn good wide out. First one I would like to mention is a kid from Lewis County (3A). J.T. Britt ...he is leading the state in receptions (57 after 6 games) and not to far from first in receiving yards (780). Not bad considering he is on a struggling team. Britt's yards also came against some quality opponents (recently 12 receptions and 152 yards receiving verses Russell). Other quality teams they played are Mason County, Bath County and Fairview. This kid seems to play with a lot of heart. Good luck to J.T. the rest of the season. Who are some other quality receivers out there?

 

Congrats to this young man running good routes and concentrating on the ball when your team is down and struggling should not go unrecognized. Keep up the good work JT.

Those JV guys must have been wearing the same numbers as that varsity bunch. Like I said lets just agree to disagree and go on. Back to the thread.
