Who are the favorites for Mr. Football...it seems to me nobody has really stood out....

 

I will start with someone who likely won't make the finals but his stats, especially with the competition he's gone against, ought to give him a shot...

 

William Stein (QB) - Trinity - 187/262 - 71.4% - 2,664 - 37 td's - 4 int's - 45 car - 139 yards - 3.1 ypc - - - - - - - - sidenote: William threw 3 int's against the GCL's finest Cincy St. Xavier...

John Cole Somerset has to be in the running, he is best player i have seen this year.

His stats are well noted.

Throw Clay Cecil, SR QB from Highlands into the mix. Navigated the Bluebird juggernaut to an undefeated regular season and hopefully # 17 !! ESPECIALLY if you factor in value to the team and off field character. MR. FOOTBALL for the STATE should represent more than just stats. (JMO)

Cole is probably the front-runner, but don't be surprised to see E.J. Fields win the award, especially is Frankfort continues to win. Never underestimate the sway signing with UK has on a "Mr." award.

Fields is probably the front runner with Cole a close 2nd. After that the Trinity QB will probably be one of the finalist. The running back from St. X would have been up there if he would have stayed healthy...and even though he was hurt late in the season...Alex Matthews the QB from Shelby County should be another one of the finalists with the numbers he has put up this year for the Rockets.

I do agree with you that Kentucky's Mr. Football should represent more than just statistics, but they are a significant factor as well.

You are absolutley correct. This kid is as good as advertised. The stats are there and the ability level is there.

True, but I think his numbers are so overwhelming that he has to receive serious consideration -
