Caleb Curtis from Montgomery Co. quietly has over 1,000 yards passing and rushing. Above that, he is a better linebacker than anything.

What about Matthews @ Shelby County?

He's put up "video game" numbers, against some very good teams (Manual, Scott Co. twice). I think he at least should be considered.

I could not agree more that He is the front runner in our mind. We are not the ones that vote. I just don't think he has had the exposure that is needed to be Mr. Football. That area of the state just does not have the voters needed to pull it off. In a close one like it is this year I would have to say Mr. Football will come out of the golden triangle.

 

Another thing hurting him is the lack of quality opponents on Somerset's schedule. Non-district was pretty good, but the district was very weak. Cole didn't get the touches in a lot of those district games because they were blowouts. It would be great to see a kid from this area win it, though. Good luck John.

2) Willing Trinity back from the brink after a terrible start.

 

3) Being genuinely the best football player in the state of Kentucky (rare as a reason for Mr. Football sometimes.)

Alex Matthews is BEST Quarterback in the state. He has been hurt but is back putting up big numbers.

My vote goes to Cory Farris from Boone County.

Aaron Boyd. He is a contributor on both sides of the football. And has had a really big year recieving against very tough competition.

I assume it is the print and broadcast media who make this selection. Of that vast number, who are specifically chosen to cast ballots? How are they situated geographically?

My own personal opinion is that is among Fields, Farris. Cole and Boyd. There are undoubtedly other deserving players.
