  1. How did Farris hit? Anyone in Boone'e lineup play well?
  2. I think the Cov Cath boys have a slight advantage due to the fact that they have protection throughout there lineup. Teams can often avoid giving Farris good pitches to hit with Reed out of the lineup.
  3. Not sure what that is supposed to mean?
  4. Farris has definitely never hit the golf course for Boone. He is however a four year football letterman, two year basketball letterman, and will be a five year baseball letterman.
  5. Uh Oh:sssh:... DD has to be lurking somewhere.
  6. In talking with Cory about the situation the coach's have told him he will be the back-up catcher, behind a freshman catcher this season, along with holding an outfield and dh role. The coaches said he would have an everyday role in the line-up.
  7. Word at Boone County is that Farris may be asked to do the same thing. Who knows... this years player of the year may come down to who has more saves.:sssh:
  8. Congrats Dustin!!! Always nice to see fellow rebels taking their ability to the next level.:ylsuper:
  9. I second this. Rich is a beast on the D-Line!!!
  10. When Farris is in center Boone's OF will be up there with the best. It will be a mixture of Farris, Cotton, Lokasack, and Krohman(Todd), and Robertson. They are all solid and add depth to the whole roster.
  11. Boone's coach believes that the players should be able to get themselves open:confused:... Not going to happen against the best defenders around!!! Gotta change something up for before the next go around!:irked:
  12. Murray was definitely a D1 football prospect, baseball not quite. As for Hump and Wags, their D1 interest had to be from mass mailing lists. Good players though. As for Campbell, I haven't seen enough consistency out of his baseball game, and football maybe because of speed. If I remember correctly though you spoke in present tense when you mentioned these D1 prospects. So, really your only one is Campbell if he pans out.:walk:
  13. I'm still waiting for these D1 prospects from Ryle. If they have all this talent Dandy talks of then they will be quite the specticale, especially these D1 two sport athletes.:sssh:
  14. First of all, big athletic school or not. It's a great opportunity and it is a good baseball program. Can't speak much for the other sports. Secondly, you make me laugh a lot Dandy. And sometimes you make me laugh till I cry:laugh:. Who might these D1 baseball prospects be, and even better who are these two sport athletes you speak of?
  15. I agree that with the loss of simpson that Boone will have the upper hand. Rebels by 8.
  16. :thumb: I don't know if you read the bio's on their incoming recruits, pretty impressive.
  17. I also believe that Highlands should be given a little more credit toward the number one spot. However that is not a very valid point considering that Boone handled Beechwood in their second week scrimmage as well. After seeing what T did to Boone, that's not a good point to make, seeing that Highlands and Boone were just as successful against the 1A State Champs.
  18. That is correct for a four year program. You must attend three years after chosing to skip your draft spot. If he were to attend a junior college of two years he would only be required to attend for 1 year to be eligible again.
  19. True, and i agree with you in that the open enrollment/independent should have a multiplier as well. That would affect Beechwood and Highlands. I'm starting to see a trend. At least 4 of the six champs had paid tuition or open enrollment. Public schools have a hard time competing with these schools when students are choosing to attend there for these power house football programs. Sure public schools have years where they are outstanding as well. The difference is these schools never seem to have rebuilding years, where many public schools will spend 2-3 rebuilding years for every outstanding season.
  20. It's amazing how when a game plan is made to control the ball and run the clock against a superior passing opponent that the running back now gets the tag that he got 50 carries a game. Actually i think he averaged around 27 a game and his yards per carry was about 7. I don't care how many carries you get, when opponents know your going to be running the ball and stack 8-9 guys in the box every game and you can still average 7 yards a carry, i consider that an impressive stat. Of course Trinity held Farris to minimal yards. With their athletes and the obvious game plan that they had to stop Farris they should have.
  21. Farris should be up there. Also Farris was getting D-1 football interest up until the point when he signed his D-1 baseball letter. If you're going to start a thread like this put all possible canadits in the poll.
  22. When you're the Connie Mack world series All-Tournament Team DH, I think you're ready to play at the college level as a freshman, if not further. He saw pitching all season with Midland that was the best in the country including many pitchers who signed after the season was finished. I think he finished with about a .350 average and four or five homeruns. Not too bad when you consider he has another year to improve on those impressive numbers. My understanding from what i've heard is that he will be in the lineup everyday as a freshman in some way. I bet if he went to Ryle he would be ready to start as a freshman though:sleep:.
