The ump said he went threw 32 baseballs. Ryle had trouble getting around on Towles. They must have hit 20 pitches out of play to the right side of first base.

Highlands hit. Ryle didn't.

 

Towles threw well, though he had to have thrown a ton of pitches. Seems like he went to full count on just about everyone. But credit where credit is due - he and the other Highlands pitchers got the job done.

I don't think overrated is the correct choice of words, underachieving would be better. This team is very talented, somehow that talent has come in bursts and has not been consistent. A big problem is a lot of these kids don't have confidence in themselves right now. I don't know why, maybe a positive word instead of having to worry about every at bat or error costing them playing time might help. This is an outside observation, unlike most on here, the "homer" thing is not playing into this.

No sour grapes here because Ryle got smoked in this game but the coach allowing fans to sit right next to the duggout and not cheer, but heckle and throw personal insults is bush league. Just an opinion.
