Big difference in being up front about press box availability, broadcast fees, ect... and making contact the week of the game, getting permission from the AD, the AD personally showing them where to set, get ready to go live on the air THEN being told to tear down and leave. I have been told before games, on several occasions, we would have to set up outside. In those cases I could make arrangements for tent, wet weather gear, etc.. Collins screwed the pooch on this one, all the way around

I can even understand if the home team tells you beforehand there is no room in the box. Once you give permission to the announcing guys, show them where to set up, let them get ready to go on the air and THEN kick them out, that's just wrong! AND to not have the "guts" to do it yourself. Have to radio up to have a PA guy it for you. No excuse for that weakness!

Not a good look on Collins at all. These guys made arrangements well ahead of time. They were told where to set up by the AD, then at approximately 6:50pm, another radio station showed up. The LC Sports guys were getting ready to go live when the AD radio'd up to the PA guy to do the dirty work of making them tear down and leave the press box. Now that's hospitality

Maybe it could be a life lesson for the "winning" team. Tell the IHSAA they are not accepting the "win". That teaches the players to do the right thing. If it's a judgement call during or at the end of a game, I say things happen. This was not a judgement call. This was a correctable error by refs. Game was over. I never want to see courts get involved in kids sports.

With :08 left in the game, Pulaski leading 28-27, South Laurel attempted a 20yd FG that was good. However, there was false start penalty that pushed it back 5 yards. The 25yd FG attempt was blocked on the last play of the game. South Laurel played their guts out! Coach Burdine has that team headed in the right direction. Pulaski looked disinterested in all facets of the game. Stupid penalties, arm tackles, dropped passes, blown coverages and costly mental errors all night long. A win is a win, tho.

It was a tough night for the MVP Sports Talk LIVE crew. We opened the show discussing the passing of one of the most wonderful human beings I've had the honor to ever come in contact with. Mason Flynn was a true man of God and one of the most genuine people I've had to honor to know. Our deepest condolences to the Flynn/ Parks families. Just a few stats for PC I got from Mike Kerr of MVPSportsChannel.com.. Cain was 25-36 for 373yds 3TD 1INT. Jake Johnson had 17 Catches for 308yds and 2TD. That kid is just ridiculous! Cain looked really good for it being his 1st varsity start. There is a lot of work to be done but, I'm sure PC will be ecstatic if he produces numbers like that all year. Wayne County is going to win a lot of football games! Coach Thompson has built a program Cardinal fans can be proud of. WC QB had several long runs on the option, as well as a strong arm. I was impressed with him. The best thing to happen last night was everyone came out of the scrimmage injury-free.

Iheart Lake Cumberland made the decision a few months back to make major changes and, unfortunately, local sports was one of the changes. They did away with the Sports Director position that was held by Josh McKinney, leaving him without a job. They also let go of the other local sports announcers that were on as contractors. With the void being left by iHeart, locally owned Somerset 106 has picked up Somerset High School Football for the 2016 season. With the help of some of the guys left out of work, http://mvpsportschannel.com has picked up Pulaski County and Southwestern High School Football games. The site will carry audio of the games online, as well as stories, interviews and podcasts throughout the season. It's a grass-roots effort with a bunch of guy who have been around the local sports scene for over 20 years. There are some familiar names from around the Pulaski County area such as Paul Wright, Mike Kerr, Dewayne Clark, Gary Phelps, Brian Abner and Jeff Wix involved in the venture. It does appear the local radio stations we grew up with are disappearing at an alarming rate, with online streaming being future of the business. We hope to be able to cover the local schools as much as possible.

PC will lose a lot in talent, not in pure numbers. They will lose some on defense but, they will return all but 3 starters on offense. Now, those 3 are HUGE, with Hall being the biggest loss, just from what he has done over his career. Conwell and Johnson return next year as well as the entire offensive line. With Cain getting into so many varsity games this year at QB, he should be ready for next year. Johnny Hines has always been able to develop a QB, and that will be the biggest question mark for the Maroons next year. They will still be region and semi-state contender. The cupboard is still plenty full for this PC team.

It appeared it wasn't a called fake punt. The punter bobbled the ball then took off. Looked like he panicked, though there was no rush on him. He still had plenty of time to kick the ball.

The walking wounded has a few more days to get healthy. Helton, Whitaker, Mink and Hudson are all battling injuries. Conwell left the game with an ankle injury tonight. PC should be ready for Saturday night.
