After Friday's near loss versus South Laurel, the Maroons took a slight dip in the rankings. Would a big win over the rival Warriors give them a bump back up in the polls? Southwestern is coming off a 37-7 win over Lincoln County. The Warriors have had this rivalry circled all season, a win here will earn them their seventh district championship. What are your thoughts on this one, who wins and why?

I just can't pick against Pulaski anymore in this game until they lose one of them. If PC comes out like last week they will get beat, but I don't expect that.

 

Pulaski played with a lot of emotion the two weeks prior to SL game last week, I think that attributed to them coming out flat and nearly losing the game. I don't expect that to be an issue this week.

 

Pulaski by 10 or so points, much better game than last year.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't had more activity. Do any of our Pulaski County area members have any insight on what each team needs to do to leave this one with a win tonight?

 

With the likeliness of sloppy playing conditions, will the team that takes care of the ball the best get the win? Will it be a defensive struggle rather than the offensive shootout that both teams are capable of?

I am very interested in this game, as I think whoever wins round 2 of this matchup will face South Oldham in the Regional Final with a chance to go play for the State Championship.

 

Is Southwest's field turf or grass? I know Pulaski and they will be ready. I don't know much about Southwest, any info on them?

Unless something has changed since last year, it is a grass field. I know that turf was planned for both schools, then that idea was shot down due to funding in spring of 2015.

Yeah, nothing has changed...I expect that next school board election that will be an issue, approved it then cancelled it. Everyone is still salty over that :lol2:

Yeah it doesn't make much sense unless the school systems financial adviser, advised against it. Outside of that, I imagine it was all politics.
