One of the best defenses in the state no matter which class. Belfry kept up the pressure and a young but talented Breathitt team was overwhelmed by turnovers and physical play. Belfry will be the 3A state champs.

Congrats to Belfry on the win and Good Luck in the State Championship Game!!

 

Also, congrats to Breathitt Co. on a fine season as well.

Pretty close game at the half 20-13 Belfry. 3rd quarter was total domination by the Pirates, and it took the wind out of Breathitt Co.

 

I think fatigue set in and the Pirate o-line wore the Bobcats down opening some big holes for Dustin May, Ivan Lee, Charlie Dotson (Player of the Game), and Thomas Varney, all of whom scored at least one TD for the Pirates. Heath Varney also scored a late TD.

 

I could be wrong, but I think Dotson had 4, May 2, Lee, T. Varney & H. Varney had one a piece.

 

Belfry was just the better team, plain and simple. Man for man its hard to find a weakness in Belfry's first 11 on either side of the ball, and they've got a few kids on the sidelines who step in and do an excellent job when given the opportunity.

 

This has been a season to remember and hopefully we can cap it off with a victory in Louisville on Dec. 7th.

Some will still pick Louisville Central based of there tough schedule. A tough schedule is good but you have to win some of those games.

They are no joke. If they beat PT. I think that game is still up in the air. Belfry could lose that game but I doubt it. If they keep up the pressure like they have I don't see them getting beat.

So if they get beat by Tilghman do you still think they are better than the second best team in 3-A?
