One thing that I am a little confused about if I'm hearing it right. Are they saying that they allowed kids to go to the school free or at a reduced rate to play sports?? If that is the case how in the world could the coaching staff not be aware of that?? I'm Just asking not assuming.

I like it when a man/woman comes forward and tells his/her side of the story and you don't read it in the local newspaper. I for one believe the man and hope him and his team the best of luck getting through this tough time. Thanks for telling your side.

I find it very interesting on just how some think based on what kind of school they are from. Private/Public. In general BGP members who are from private schools think everything is a bed of roses when this issue is brought up. Members from public schools feel that the system is unfair. Granted not all feel this way but I think the majority feel that way. It kind of reminds me of the Repulicans and the Democrates and hoe they vote along party lines. If you are going to be a leader you must be fair and impartial. I'm sorry but I just don't see this with KHSAA.

I'm sure it does. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck 99.9% of the time it's a duck. I just look at their track record of voting on the polls each week and then the interest they have in Mr. Football and call it like most would see it. Please don't get me wrong. I think they are outstanding in reporting high school sports. I realize they don't get paid to vote and it does not put food on the table. They are over worked and under paid. I guess I'm just old school. If your going to do something that effects the lives of others you had better do it to the best of your ability. Times have changed. Maybe I need to lighten up and just not care.

No it's not sad. You can love the game and still like to see your name in the paper. Are you saying you can't love the game and still like to be recognized for you accomplishments? Now that would be sad.

When you are 18 years old it makes a difference.

If you go back and look I have never disagreed with the winner. I would not do that on here even if I did disagree. I would not want to attempt to take anything away from the winner.

I have no problem with the selection of Mr. Robinson. I would have voted for him if I could have. "You state that there are many who......" That may be. You are the first that I have seen make that statement.

Now what makes you think for one minute that I have not done that. I think over the years I have said that I have spoke to them several times. They don't want to hear what I have to say regarding voting. It's their vote, and they can vote if they want, and for who they want, and if they don't want to they don't have to. You know what? They are exactly right. The bottom line is. It's not important to them. You for one should know that. I'm just suggesting that BGP have a "selection also. It appears you don't like my idea . Thats Okay also.

I have said that maybe BGP should take the award over to make it more legit. I think that If BGP made an official selection and called it something like "BGP Kentucky State Footbal MVP" that it would mean a whole lot more to the kids that recieve the award because they would know that they compeated against all the players in the state and not just the ones that had an AP guy who felt like voting this year. I think that you would find that the Mr. Football award would just fall to the wayside. I for one would just like to see all the kids have an opportunity for the award. What does the GURU think?

Sounds like they are over worked and under paid. Maybe they need to give the Mr. Football thing over to Bluegrass preps who specializes in this type of thing and has a better understanding of the players across the state. I for one would say that everyone would be on a level. Let's face it if only 12 guys voted it probable would not make any difference to them and it would give these 12 more time to do the important things that they are very good at like reporting on local sports in their area of responsibility. I also think they need to set the AP poll aside for a while. Let's face it everytime they vote they seem to get egg all over their faces. I would like to see them spend their time doing what they do great and thats keeping me informed about sports in my area. Congrates to the AP guys on doing a great job of reporting sports.

You are talking one or two teams from Kentucky. The entire state needs to get with the program. That cannot be accomplished without the KHSAA leading the way and going in the right direction. We have the athletes and the talent. What we don't have is the adults to think outside the box and look at the future of sports in this great state that I love. It just kills me to see the direction that KHSAA is going.

Congratulations to all the players that made the list. Thank goodness they did not leave the Highlands players off the list like they did some teams.

Over the past 30 years I have lived in Ohio, California, Texas, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Minnisota, New Jersey, and several others. I'm really not sure what the problem is in Kentucky with football. I do know this. Trinity, Highlands, and X would just be another team in the mix each year. I do know one thing. When you expect mediocrity you are going to get mediocrity. KHSAA is just not at the same level as these other states. Some day the leadership will change at the top and you won't see things like 0-10 teams making the playoffs. How can we expect to compete with Ohio teams when our own expectations are so low. We need to raise the bar. Just my view.

Things are a little more advanced in the rest of the world. We will catch up once they make some changes at the top of KHSAA.

Once again a great job of selecting. I love it when a group of people put their thoughts together and come up with some good quality selections. Congratulations on a job well done. Congratulations to all the fine young men on this list.

I know and I should not get so down on the AP guys. They do a great job day in and day out. I just wish they would care more about these awards that the kids so charish.

The AP guys are going over highlight film after highlight film and thats takes a long time. Once they have done that they will look at the top 5 and go over them agin to get the best quality player for Mr. Football. Now if you beleive one word that I just said you really beleive in the tooth fairy. If I were on the KHSAA board of directors I would be on the AP guys like flys on dirty shoes.

You know I thought that might be what they are doing but history shows that they do their own thing. It will be interesting to put the two lists side by side.

I've watched the AP voters for the past 10 years on their selections for all state in Kentucky. It is evident that they really don't care and just shoot in the dark. Look back at the poll's they do each week. I guess we are all awaiting their list so we can all complain about it. I for one could give a hoot less who makes it for the AP. They have no credibility. The AP would be much better served if they just waited until the BGP list comes out and then piggy backs off of that. At least then they would appear to care about their selections.

I don't know his name and am to lazy to look it up but the coach at Bath County has turned that team around. They have a very good program now.
