If my recolection serves me right Russell has never been favored to beat belfry in the last four times they have played. If they play this year they won't be favored again.

The game that I attended was Russell against East Carter. The game had very few fans in attendence. No one likes to go and see a blow out. The one thing you can count on is that KHSAA will do what they want, when they want, and how they want. You can complain all you want and it will fall on deaf ears. It's a shame but it is reality.

We all have a lot of respect for Coach Buchanon he is one of the finest. I'll go with what he said and not attempt to twist it in another direction. I think if both teams play their best we will all be in for a treat.

It was one of the more interesting post game interviews I have heard. He was very very proud of his team and indicated that they played their best game. I have to give him credit. The going for two was a great call. If Russell play the way they did in the first meeting congratulations you will be moving on. I just don't think they will do that again.

Just repeating what your own Head Coach stated. Are you saying he was wrong and you are right? We already know Russell played poorly in that game.

Russell played a very poor game the first time around. Per Mason County Coach in his post game interview they played there best game to that date. Russell should not make all the mistakes they did in the first game and win this one in the 3rd quarter. Russell 35 Mason C. 13

Wow you are ever so right. Trends do end. I can't remember the last time Ashland did not make the playoffs. Especially when KHSAA has set it up so that almost everyone makes it. I'm sure Russell will have it's turn. I hope it's not soon.

I agree 100%. Being a playoff team should be an accomplishment. Some teams know they have made the playoffs before the season starts. I was talking to an old friend in Ohio about our playoff system. He did not believe me that we had winless teams making the playoffs. In Ohio it is possible to win all your games and not make the playoffs. I don't know that that has ever happened but it is possible. I say go back to two teams in each district making the playoffs. Make it an accomplishment.

Assuming Russell can get past the first two games I think Brethitt and Russell at Russell will be a great game. The winner will be a huge underdog against the Belfry Red Army.

I pick Mason County to win this one. They had better not take west lightly because they can play some very good football. I would not surprise me if West were to pull this one out. They are playing very well right now.
