CentreRocks Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I can't figure out the Associated Press in this state. Only 12 members voted. 1. Corey Robinson (9) 2t. Cory Farris (1) 2t. D.L. Moore (1) 2t. John Cole (1) No one else got a vote.
westsider Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I'm told that at one time, the AP used a point system to determine Mr. Football. There were five finalists and each voter ranked them #1 through #5 on their ballot. Now, they just vote for one guy off a list of nominees. And yes, it does seem strange that only 12 media outlets voted ... makes you wonder who dropped the ball.
High Life Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Sounds like not many AP people really pay much attention to the award.
RebelBred Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Is it bad that I havent heard of these guys?
CHSalum07 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Congrats to all that recieved votes but really wish Cory Farris would of won it very well deserving.
PepRock01 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Congrats to all that recieved votes but really wish Cory Farris would of won it very well deserving. Cory was good no doubt, but it is hard to argue with the kind of numbers that Mr. Robinson put up.
tkkrcats Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Congrats to all that recieved votes but really wish Cory Farris would of won it very well deserving. :thumb:
Ram Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 How many AP votes are available? Again, does anyone know how many AP votes there are?
CentreRocks Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 Again, does anyone know how many AP votes there are? 15-20. It depends how motivated the writer is that week, i.e. does he vote. I'm sure you could call your local sports writer and he could give you more information.
Cynical Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Is it bad that I havent heard of these guys? Considering one just set the national high school TD record, and two of the others are SEC signee's: yes, it's pretty bad.

I saw were 12 AP votes were cast, and that just seems low, but I did not know how many votes there were total.
westsider Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Most of the AP polls seem to have 14-17 voters each week, best I recall.
Ram Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 My local newspaper, The Independent" listed the AP All-State Team. At the bottom of the list, it said the team was voted on by "13 AP outlets throughout the state". Does that mean there are 13 votes, or are there multiple votes per outlet? Where are the outlets located? I know Lexington and Louisville would have AP outlets, but how many other newspapers have an AP outlet? Does Lexington and Louisville have multiple votes? I just trying to figure out the number of AP votes.
Jeepman Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Is it bad that I havent heard of these guys? Maybe you have been watching to much baseball.
