  1. Another case of the private vs. public advantage.
  2. Great shot. The baseball field looks like bluegrass and red clay from that view.
  3. Congratulations!!!! Dayton is a good program getting better. Aren't they moving into a new stadiium in a few years?
  4. The track should be finished before the end of track season, but I doubt if the track team will be able to use it. The bleachers and field house will still be under construction and I doubt if the the construction company would let anybody on the track due to liability reasons. Hopefully they can work something out.

  6. Manual had a much better year than I expected based on the players they lost. If they can stay together and improve they will make some noise during the several years. St. X came out and played flat and Manual was able to take advantage of it in the first half. St. X played slightly better in the 2nd half but the injuries started piling up on Manual and the game went down hill fast. Several long runs put the game away for St. X. St. X had better be ready to play hard and smart on every down next week or Male will walk away with it. The seniors need to play like the next game may be their last because that's where they are at.
  7. I couldn't agree more. Everyone should have to follow the same team rules. I was shocked when I seen them, this speaks volumes.
  8. I am not quite sure we will see a running clock as Coach Glaser will try to get as many players as possible some playing time, especially some of the Seniors. The Tigers will win big though.
  9. Sounds like an H fan is trying to stir up some dissention amongst the Tigers, fortunately for St. X it isn’t going to work. Coach Glaser and his staff decided weeks ago that Ben Zoeller gives the Tigers their best chance at winning based on their observations and criteria, not those of a biased outsider or zealous fan. Sometimes you just have to trust the coaches. St. X has been working hard on its’ game plan all week and if something were to happen to Ben I am sure Chris can step in a do a good job. Not every team is fortunate enough to have two good QBs with plenty of playing experience. I look for this to be a typical Male/St. X game, with St. X busting it up the gut a lot and throwing enough to keep the Male DBs honest. There will be a few “3 and outs” for St. X but they will also break off some long plays. I look for St. X to win a close one in the 4th quarter. Although this is the deepest H team in a while, especially on the line, they still play 5-6 key players both ways and that will start to show in the 2nd half. Looking forward to a great game with no injuries.
  10. St. X by 2 TDs. Look for some old fashion stop me if you can St. X football.
  11. Great job Tigers, you earned your stripes tonight.
  12. Great game. I was very impressed with HHS, especially the O line. Numbers 4 and 41 were a great 1-2 punch for the Blue Birds and kept them in the game. Good job HHS. Sometimes I think St. X tries to out smart itself. The new defensive and offensive sets weren't very productive today. Hopefully when the film is evaluated St. X can make some adjustments. Again, great job both teams, everyone played hard and the weather took a lot out of all the players. so everyone should sleep well tonight. I think that HHS is the team to beat in 3A at this time.
  13. Solid win for LC. Sounds like a great game.
  14. I think the game will be close the first half but I see St. X pulling away and winning by a couple of TDs late in the game. HHS has great speed on offense and can break a long one, but I am not sure if they can grind out a 80 yard drive against the Tiger defense. The HHS "pack 'em in the box" defense may cause some trouble for the St. X running game but it is risky against someone like Vic. I would like to see the Tigers throw the ball more this week to spread things out.
  15. I think Scott Co. can play just enough "D" to win a close one at the end 35-31.
  16. I'll have to wait till later in the week to make a prediction. St. X lost a ton of starters while HHS returns a lot of experienced players. This is one reason why I wished Bowling Green was healthy when St. X played them so the Tigers could have gotten an early test against a speedy running team. This will be a good test for both teams.
  17. I couldn't agree more.
  18. This must really hit a nerve with our friends on Shelbyville Road based on their reaction. The article states that during the 2005/2006 school year ST. X won one national title, two state titles, and had three runner-up titles, plus made it to the final four of the baseball tournament. All very factual statements. The program also states that during the past 9 years, St. X has won 35 state championships, at least two in every sport except basketball where St. X has been shut out. So I guess you could say only winning two state titles last year was below average. It goes on to mention that the 2005 St. X football team had four members who were National Merit Scholars and who are now attending Yale, Notre Dame, U. of Florida and UK. A fact that should be duly noted in the program, as there are many schools that did not have four NMS total, much less on the football team. Finally, for many of our posters who are infatuated with national rankings, St. X was ranked the 14th best athletic program in the nation last year by Sports Illustrated. I am not quite sure why this has generated so much interest, I am sure other schools proudly proclaim their achievements in their various programs and publications as they should.
  19. Lex Cath has tons of speed, but I am not sure that the QB will have enough time to get the ball out to the WRs. St. X 20, Lex Cath 10 in a close one.
  20. I am sure with all of your clout you can "git-r-done".
  21. That game personified the term "winning ugly". BG played their heart out and St. X emptied both six shooters into their feet, but still managed to pull a close one out at the end. The game score was just about where I expected it, I just didn't expect so many St. X miscues. I believe some of the illegal proceedure calls can be contributed to a difference in "rule interpation" between one sideline official and the St. X coaching staff. However, coach Glaser was not issued a yellow flag so you have to go by what happened on the field. By looking at the stats you would have thought that St. X would have won by a lot, that just shows you how mistakes can hurt you. St. X did manage close to 300 yards the hard way and that has to be encouraging. I was glad to see St. X throw it 18 times, the tight end across the middle looked especially good. I am sure the QB play will only get better in the next few weeks, it's just going to take a little more practice and game experience. It looked like the defense was quicker to the ball than last year and had a lot more gang tackling going on. This defense has the potential to be very good if they don't let up. I was looking forward to watching Avery play, it would have been a good test for the Tiger defense. The heat and injuries hindered players on both teams. Hopefully Avery and Vic will be ready for the next game. BG will do alright this year and have a good chance to go the finals again if they get over the injuries and continue to work hard. I enjoyed this series and hopefully BG can make a trip to Louisville to play in the new St.X stadium in the near future.
  22. Ox, I am not quite sure where you were last year, but I know that a group of Tiger faithful will be meeting at Tate-Page Hall sometime after 2:00.
  23. I think this will be a defensive struggle with a few individual offensive plays being the differnence. St. X squeaks one out 17-14.
  24. I would love to see the start of practice moved back. The skill players virtually have two weeks of practice and multiple games in May/June due to 7 on 7. Weightlifting three times a week every week except the dead period along with various football camps players attend leaves little down time. If a player takes a part time job to earn a little spending money it gets to where burn out becomes a real problem.
  25. I believe you can still buy tickets at St. X Monday and after that you need to get them at the game. Call St. X first to be sure.
