  1. That's a great list! MacShara is the best I've seen. Shane Pack is the best fullback I've seen with 4 more TD's last week. Highlands LBer is the best defensive player I've seen but forgot his name.
  2. This was back on Sept 2nd! :dancingpa I still say you better not sleep on Sheldon Clark either!
  3. How's that for a preseason prediction:dancingpa This was back on March 22nd! I had decided to get out of coaching to be around my two little ones more when I posted this. So happy we worked things out and I was able to come back to see these JR's/SR's see all their hard work pay off. Still getting no respect makes it fun for this group as they play with a chip on their shoulder. Looking back we lost Shep to surgery and a couple of those kids didn't come out. I think Pack has around 24 TD's this year.
  4. Thanks guys it means a lot! So excited for this group of upperclassmen. They stuck together the last couple of years when a lot of kids would and did quit. It's awesome to see the smiles on their faces along with the whole communitty being excited. Still a lot of football left to play. Boyd Co played a good ballgame tonight too. Coach Evans is always a class act and they played a good ballgame.
  5. Did Sheldon Clark have starters out from the Belfry fight?
  6. Congrats Coach Combs!
  7. Pack was invited to the UofL game a couple of weeks ago.
  8. Shane Pack with another 165 yds and 3 TD's vs Rowan Co. I'd say if he got the ball 20 times a game he would ave about 200 yds and 4-5 TD's. McShara looks like the front runner to me but I hope Pack at least gets the credit he deserves when the all state ballots come out. He is the best fullback in the state IMO. At 6'1 230 he can run over you, by you or shake you. Very gifted athlete and even better kid!
  9. That's good news. Prayers are with him.
  10. Randy Keeton former baseball coach. Mike Armstrong is the new Super. People just have no idea of the dirty political stuff that has gone on here. Super is now drawing a disability check after he lost millions of dollars somehow and Principal finally left town. There are now people in place that grew up here, love the kids here and will do the right thing. It's been a battle but the tide is turning! LC is lucky to have Coach Salmons, Anderson and Feltner leading the young men around here!
  11. Unofficial stats: Lawrence Co Shane Pack 21 carries for 166 3 TDS Hunter James 15 carries for 97 Caleb Bentley 7 carries for 61 Larry West 1 carry for 14 Jacob Marcum 11 carries for 55 yards 56 - 390 Pass Hayden Kiser was 5 of 9 for 82 yards Larry West 2 catches for 42 yards and a TD Lucas Frasher 2 33 Yards Hunter James 1 for 7 Rowan Co. Cross 10 for 30 yards with 31 coming on one carry Chinn 11 - 50 and a TD Wing - 8 - 30 Totals 29 - 110 Passing Wing was 9-103 and a TD Penalties yardage was out of control and cost a score. We also took a knee on the 1 yd line even though Rowan Co deicded to enter to our music and jump around on the 50 yd line with a guy having a chain around his kneck trying to provoke our kids. Prayers go out to the Rowan Co player that was taken to the hospital. If anybody knows how he is please share. If you are a Lawrence Co fan I really hope you bring everybody you know out next week to honor this group of Seniors on SR night. This group won 1 game as Sophs/Jr's while in transition. They believed in what was being done and knew it was going to be a long tough road. I think it speaks volumes to their character for sticking together through the tough times and it's a joy to see them so happy and being rewarded! They have already gone through the biggest turnaround in state history but are still hungry. On top of all that they are yes sir/no sir kids. If people only knew what they've been through! We just got a Superintendant this week and an athletic director about 2 weeks ago. We are a 3A team numbers wise but don't have people to turn in the right numbers. Instead of making excuses the kids rolled up their sleeves and worked their tails off! Rowan Co is a really good football team. I wouldn't sleep on them in the playoffs!
  12. Congrats stangs and Coach Martin. Will always hold my 1st school close to my heart:)
  13. He might not be MR Football but Shane Pack has to be up there with the best fullbacks in the state. He's 6'1 230 and arguably the top punter in the state too. He visited UofL last week. He could be averaging 250 a game probably but we've had about 5 or 6 kids with 100 yd games this year. Pack puts up about 140 with 3 TD's on about 13 carries a game or so.
  14. That's how I see it too except I haven't seen any better in all of KY than Roller.
  15. I've pretty much been around as a player or coach just about all of Lawrence Co's lines through the 90's etc. This one is top 3 and you could argue within the 3 best. Tack on a 6'4 TE best blocking WR in school history and 6'1 230 FB and there is a lot of power on this team.
  16. Glad to see Boonie doing well!
  17. Pburg is the only team I've seen. They are very athletic and have one of the most underrated QB's in the state in M. Burchette. He visited Purdue this past weekend. They have a lot of team speed on both sides of the ball.
  18. So if the pitch back is looking for the ball on option but hasn't received it can you blow him up as long as you don't wrap him up or hit him low?
  19. Question for you: When playing an option team (true triple option) is it legal to hit the tailback without the ball to take that phase of the option out of the play? We had an official earlier this year that said you couldn't and I still think he was wrong. #2 We also had an official that said we couldn't make contact with a WR down the field when the ball wasn't in the air yet. I thought you could be physical all over the field unless the ball was in the air. Thanks for the answers...
  20. Congrats on a great win! I have direct TV and saw this game will be replayed I think it is Mon on CBSS I think is the channel. Just thought I'd share. I'm going to DVR it. Can't wait too watch!
  21. McCaden and McShara should be 1-2 based on numbers. A few guys that deserve some pub Alber from Ashland, Shaw Lafeyette and while not Mr Football Burchette QB from Pburg has led an amazing season!
  22. 2 very good football teams that are both very well coached! They will both be a tough out in the playoffs. Amazing what Pburg has done with talent that graduated last year. You have to tip your hat to those kids that came back with a chip on their shoulder. Burchette the QB at Pburg is one of the better in the state. SC has a very physical team too. Really anxious to see them and Belfry hook up. All three of those teams are playing great ball.
  23. Congrats Coach great win!
  24. Shane had another big game tonight with around 145 yds and 2 TD's. The thing about him is he could be running for 200-300yds a game but LC spreads it around with about 5 backs. It all stems from Shane though. I've been coaching football for almost 13 years. I've coached against schools like Highlands, Trinity, X, Belfry, Pburg, Bell etc. I can't remember a game where a running back ran much more physical than Shane did tonight. He reminds me of Dustin May from Belfry. He absolutly trucked several kids one on one tonight and didn't go down. He might be the best punter in the state too. He's getting a lot of looks. He might not win Mr Football but he's been playing like a 1st team all state fullback!
