Can we please get away from the 40 point prediction that someone made and move on? Yes I am a huge Rockcastle County fan, and no I wouldn't have predicted that margin, BUT there is no need to continue to harp on and on and on about it. The games are over, Rockcastle County is the state champion, and there is nothing else needed to be said about what people said. Please let everyone enjoy what happened this weekend. With all of that been said, I do want to congratulate not only the Rockcastle County Lady Rockets on winning the title, but to ALL of the teams who made it to Diddle Arena. Obviously not everyone can win the title, but you are champions in your own area so be proud of that accomplishment.

For those of you who are reading this thread, please don't think ALL Rockcastle County fans think like this. As I said in the thread from tonight's game, I had a gut feeling that Madison Central could pull off the upset. The girls on Rock's team won't overlook anyone because Coach Noble won't let them. They play Clay County next and both are old rivals and with so much on the line, who knows what the outcome will be tomorrow night.

I didn't get to watch this game as I was en route back to NKU from spending some time at home during Spring Break. The last couple days I've had the gut feeling that Madison central could pull off the upset due to how they've been playing and how they played against Rockcastle last season at MCHS. They are a really good team that some, but not all, were overlooking. I will tell you this much, Coach Noble won't let her girls overlook anybody, especially at this point in the season.

For the record, Hatton WAS the MVP of the tournament, but I didn't announce it since I wasn't told about the girls tournament having an MVP, which was Kiley Bartels...so since it wasn't announced for the girls, it wasn't announced for the boys. Not that I cared who won or lost, but this particular play you are referring to was a scene straight out of the World Cup when someone isn't even touched, yet they flop to the ground trying to get the call. Pike was doing it the entire tournament. Not saying it was right or wrong to do so, but it was a total flopjob. As for the game, we at the scorer's table were hoping for two more OTs to see the period show 0 instead of 10...lol. Anyway, congrats to Dixie Heights for breaking the regional title drought and best of luck at Rupp Arena!

King Kelly Coleman did that before the three-point line was in play. The man will forever be a legend in high school basketball in the state of Kentucky. As for the game, it looked like it was going to be a blowout after the first quarter and for much of the second, then Highlands started chipping away little by little. They showed great heart and determination in getting the game back to where they did. Oh and hats off to the Dixie Heights guards...they sure can play for being as small as they are.

I think it used to be either 30 or 45 seconds but I can never remember it being a minute.

Since I sit next to the clock operator I can say that the coach is only given 20 seconds to make a sub once their player fouls out.

RomanEmpire, it most certainly will. My friend who was doing it tonight will be back on Saturday and Sunday, but another friend is doing the rest of the weekday games. I have coordinated it to where its people I trust doing it, PLUS we have Benny "The Legend" Clary helping us out with the substitutions so all is well...substitutions might not necessarily be up on the board as soon as they're made, but would be within a few seconds. If anyone wants to stop down by the scorers table to say hello, I'm the one doing the PA Announcing.

I'm not sure it has been made public as to which particular referees will be representing their regions, but I would think the host site managers will know who is calling where and then the coaches/administration for the teams in each respective games will as well. , however, will know which ones are calling in the 9th Region games each day when I go to The Bank of Kentucky Center...lol...the reason being is that I will be the PA announcer and will have to have that information once I arrive on site...lol.

I've seen it done that way and also by numerical order starting with the host district then proceeding to the next in line.

Please don't think all Rockcastle County fans are like this one individual. I know this thread has gotten a little off topic, but rest assured that Coach noble and the girls are not planning anything that big until after it has already passed. Chrysti is not the type of coach, or person for that matter, to do something so outrageous as what has been stated.

It will be either sacred Heart, Mercy or Assumption for quite a while...until the rest of the state steps their game up, especially in the club scene, its gonna stay those three schools for a while. The most exciting thing however is that the next two years the state tournament is supposed to be at NKU's Regents Hall,

Its been known since they announced the team name that Jared was the GM of the NKY River Monsters. Not sure if he is gonna continue with Highlands or not, but I don't think it would exclude him from doing so if he chose to...one of the teams in the UIFL has a head coach that is also a high school head coach...the indoor season starts later this month so the only overlap would be the spring workouts for high school.

I don't really have a dog in this fight so all I'm going to say is that I can't wait for the tournament to start. I have been asked to be in charge of the scorer's table workers and I will once again be doing PA for the tournament. I just hope this dang cough goes away ASAP. Love regional tournament time.

I know she had a visit to Pikeville College but not sure what else. No matter where she goes, I wish her nothing but the best. Clay County may have been one of the schools I disliked the most back in the day, but now it's one of my most respected...can't hate on the successful teams that's come out of Manchester.

With the rich tradition of girls basketball in Clay County HS's history, this is a huge accomplishment. There have been so many outstanding Lady Tigers throughout the years. Congrats Whitney Belle!
