Northern Kentucky Regional Contest (Week #7)
Bluegrasspreps.com is giving you a chance to show off your football knowledge statewide! The Bluegrasspreps Regional Pick 'em gives you a chance to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes EACH WEEK. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Lexington/Central Ky, Louisville, and WKY. Each region will have five games to pick from each week. We pick the games, and you will pick the winner of each game, assigning your picks a point value of 7-5-3-2-1. The first tiebreaker is picking the team (of the ten teams in the contest) that scores the most points. You don't have to pick the highest scoring team, you just have to pick a team that scores more points than the team(s) picked by the member(s) you are tied with. The second tiebreaker is time. This is a season long contest and you can enter in any or all regions that you wish. At the end of the regular season, the winner of each region and the next five highest point totals statewide (the Wild cards) will compete during the playoffs for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps. If you win more than one position in the postseason playoff, then your second slot will go to the next Wild card. The best part is, if you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. Check here for a reference. The overall state winner after the playoffs will get a grand prize custom made for you. The deadline for all entries is 5 p.m. (ET) Friday. Be sure to post your winners and assign each of them one of the following point values (7-5-3-2-1) based on how strongly you feel that that team will win. (Please note that if your selections are NOT in the specified format, your ENTIRE set of picks will be voided) 7 5 3 2 1 1st Tiebreaker 2nd Tiebreaker: Time of post. The games for Week 7 in the Northern Kentucky Regional are: Simon Kenton/Campbell County Gallatin County/Carroll County Conner/Cooper Beechwood/Dixie Heights Boone County/Ryle

Rockcastle County 22 Perry County Central 0
Final from Hazard, Ky. Rock (6-0) remains undefeated both in this season and against the Commodores (5-1). Rock is now 7-0 all-time against the Commodores with the previous six meetings going as followed: Oct 20, 2006 Rock 48 PCC 8 Oct 21, 2005 Rock 48 PCC 7 Oct 22, 2004 Rock 39 PCC 12 Oct 23, 2003 Rock 43 PCC 19 Oct 11, 2002 Rock 54 PCC 0 Oct 5, 2001 Rock 76 PCC 0 The most impressive part of the night is that Rockcastle County won without Clark Rowe, who sat out with a shoulder injury. Chris Luna had 26 carries for 108 yards for the Rockets, who had a total of 223 yards on the ground. Cory McPhetridge was 6-8-1 for 72 yards for Rockcastle. Sorry but there are no stats for the Commodores. Big game next week for Rockcastle as they open district play against another undefeated in Russell County.

Holmes 58 Pendleton County 14
I hate to see what CovCath and Highlands will do to Pendleton. Hopefully those games won't discourage any future Wildcats from playing.

Rockcastle County/Perry Central Updates
The game isn't final, but it pretty much is now after Reams intercepts a Huff pass deep inside Rocket territory.

Rockcastle County/Perry Central Updates
A PCC penalty nullifies a touchdown from 40 or so yards out. Commodores are killing themselves. Then Rockcastle is called for a pass interference penalty and without it, PCC would have scored. Score is still 22-0 Rock with 3:11 to go.

Rockcastle County/Perry Central Updates
Rockcastle would have a 4th down in their own territory but a personal foul on PCC for hitting a player out of bounds gives Rock the first down... Later on in the drive Rock converts a 4th down inside PCC territory... Unfortunately Sizemore from PCC has been ejected from the game...not sure of what happened...the PCC players seem to be losing their composure...hate to hear about anyone doing that...the Commodores have too good of a team this season to be doing that...they might not end up winning this game, but they will definitely win a few more and could make a good run in the playoffs. Luna scores for the Rockets and the kick is good. Rockets now lead 22-0 with 6:57 to go in the game.

Rockcastle County/Perry Central Updates
That is correct. PCC beat JC 35-27 on Aug. 26. This game is a battle of unbeatens as both are 5-0. If I'm not mistaken, this is the best start in PCC history. PCC looks to finally have a coaching staff that is able to do what should have happened years ago with the talent that is there.

PCC drives deep into Rocket territory and the 'Dores have 4th & 10 on the Rock 16 but a bad snap gives the ball back to the Rockets with just over 10:00 in the first half.

Rockcastle County goes for it on 4th & 3 from the PCC 6 and BB Bradley goes in for the TOUCHDOWN. PCC jumps on the extra point and Rock goes for two... McPhetridge hands off to Bradley and he converts. Rockets lead 8-0 with just over 2:00 left in the first quarter.

PCC goes deep on their first play but the catch is out of bounds... Two plays later and PCC has to settle for a punt... The punt is tackled before he can get the kick off and Rockcastle County takes over on the PCC 15.

Rockcastle County/Perry Central Updates
Perry County Central holds on fourth down after Rockcastle drove to inside the 10 yard line chewing up almost seven minutes from the clock.
