TD, what does your heart say? Trinity by a long field goal, 17-14. X will run the ball with some success the first half, but Beans defense will shut them down in the second half. Coverdales O will mix if up and keep X's defense off balance the entire game. Look for some exciting runs by RB's on boths sides and some nice passes to T's receivers. Could be largest crowd ever.....

Yeah all I read is about offense. I believe DEFENSE wins championships and deffiantly won this game tonight for the ROCKS. Great defensive effort tonight by all. Lets start giving this defense some recognition, right now they are looking like they will carry us back to the promised land of #17.

As for the game, both teams played their guts out and showed class. Rocks lost, but what they'll gain will go far into the year. T coaches will fine tune both sides of the ball and we'll see a more polished team this friday night. As for the size issue, I'll take speed and killer instinct over size anyday. But, it's alway nice to have all three.

I forsee a pretty evenly matched game. Trinitys offensive line is not all other Trinity fans think it is. They struggled against Scott Co. and as well against Lexington Catholic. If Petrino has to run out of pocket and get chased down every play, the somewhat good pass coverage for MBA could cause fits for Petrino. MBA in the past, except for 2004, usually gives Trinitys offensive line fits because of the blitzing packages they will bring. Look for a hectic day on offense for the Rocks. The defense in the other hand will also have its ups and downs. Trinity is not that solid at defensive back so if MBA decides to throw 40 times it could be a long day. The line for Trinity will be matched well with MBA's. Also the linebackers for Trinity havent shown much promise for the Rocks except for a few big hits by Jordan Whiting. If the backers stay on their feet approaching the ballcarrier they might just be alright. The defensive ends will be outmatched in size but that is overcomable with the quickness and speed they have. Look for a pretty even game in this match-up. Homefield advantage proved the winner in the first three meetings. MBA doesnt bring their best when they travel to Louisville that was seen in 2004 when the offense failed to put the ball in the end zone, granted that defense was pretty strong all year until they gave up 14 to Dixie Heights which proved to be enough. Both teams will have their lumps but look for the Rocks to finally sneak out a close game against a better and improved MBA team from last week. MBA- 14 Trinity- 21

What type of defense was dunbar throwing at MBA?? Was MBA bringing the house on their defensive blitzes. They always seem to have a tough defense. Any big kids for mba on the field tonight?

#71 Ryan Tydlacka younger brother of Louisville punter/kicker Wade Tydlacka. the young man has a for sure D1 leg. Look for him on saturdays and even sundays in the future. Bright future and has a very good work ethic.

Will Trinity charge admission this friday? Last year Lex Cath did not charge. Will Trinity return the favor? As for the scrimage, both teams will be fine tuning their lineups for their opening game.

This is true, but the offensive line had their own issues. I bet the coaches are looking for others to fill those defensive line positions before calling on anyone else. Just my take. As I said earlier, you gotta have faith. After last year, how can you not have faith?

Sometimes you have to have faith in the seniors to get the job done. I didn't say the Dutton's weren't capable of playing DB. Rocks defense will learn more this Friday about themselves as well as the offense.

What defender might that have been, the defense worked pretty well the other night and they wont see a quarterback of that athletic ability the rest of the year. This defense will get stronger everyday as they spend more time together its all about getting the right feel for each other and they are gaining the confidence in each other that will make them successful.

I think the ROCKS looked good in some areas and needed a little fine tuning in others e.g timing/responsiblities. Scott County looked good on a few trick plays and that's the main reason the score was what it was. I think the Cardinals/Rocks scrimmage each year helps both teams in preparing for their season. Hope it lasts. ROCKS will be in fine shape come 8/26. GO ROCKS.

About the poll, Yes Male has some players who have played a year or two, but what really have they proven? Big Sam Webb, can he really anchor a line -- NO. Doug Beaumont, all purpose player, but has he really come through in the games for Redman when he needed him - - NO. So what have they proven? Look on the flip side, what has Petrino proven....enough said. Okay, one player doesn't make a team, how about Spoekler or McDermott, enough said. Trinity players, maybe less athletically than others prove they can play when it counts. So, BGP made the rankings for one reason, so the ROCKS can prove themselves again. By no means should they overlook X, they're out for revenge....

If someone took a poll from the players, I bet they would say they didn't care where they're ranked at the beginning of the season, just as long as their rank #1 at the end of the season. Rings sure do look nice...........

I know T's freshman head coach pretty well and he said his freshman are slower and smaller than last year. Looks like a long season for the pebbles. McGuire has his work cut out for him this year, good luck. :sssh:

Thank you, I thought I'd seen him on the sideline, but wasn't for sure. Has he been a coach for a while? I know both QB's and each are very talented. Last I recall Zoeller was larger/stronger, but Wade might be a little more athletic. Wish both luck.
