I am a little confused, how does a team get picked 2nd when :

 

1) returning 2005 Ky. High School Football 4-A Champs.

 

2) returning Jefferson Co. #1 QB from 2005

 

3) ranked 15th and 26th in the NATION by High School Football Publications

 

4) ranked 6th in the Midwest Region by a High School Football Publication

 

This Team and Football Program has delivered time and time again?:confused:

1.) BGP never has ranked anyone on what they did last year. Everyone knows what a team did last year, BGP tries to rank where we think the teams are this year.

 

2.) Yes, Trinity returns their QB, but what do they lose? What do other teams return/lose. Neither Trinity or anyone else is ranked in a vacum.

 

3 and 4) National rankings are fun and I am happy Trinity is ranked, but as far as a barometer of anything they are not worth a whole lot.

 

Trinity maybe the best team in the state right now, they may even prove they are the best team in the state by the end of the season, who knows at this point. However, in they eyes of some very informed prep football followers they believe that Male is ahead of Trinity right now.

I can't see why that would matter. But I doubt if he did since I think he is from a 3A school. But what he said is dead on accurate.

I am sure based on your standards unless we picked every post season game correctly we would be wrong.

 

Trinity won the title last year and that is all that matters but I think most people on the outside looking in agree St. Xavier was the better team.

# 3 & 4 does means quite a bit PRIDE & NATIONAL RANKINGS, #1 Should and does mean alot when the Team has 13 Players who either started or had alot of varsity playing time.
