How does TRINITY get picked 2nd by BGP Poll?

Featured Replies

What happens if a team other than X or T wins the state title. BGP shut down for a half a year?

Good job of using too broad a brush. Where exactly did I say it?

Not to put to fine a point on it but please point out to me where I said that.
I am a little confused, how does a team get picked 2nd when :

1) returning 2005 Ky. High School Football 4-A Champs.

2) returning Jefferson Co. #1 QB from 2005

3) ranked 15th and 26th in the NATION by High School Football Publications

4) ranked 6th in the Midwest Region by a High School Football Publication

This Team and Football Program has delivered time and time again?

What Trinity last year is irrelevant. The question should be: how many starters are coming back this year?

There are not many T fans that think we should be preseason 1.

After watching almost three quarters of the Trinity/SC scrimmage I don't think any ROCK fans will think we are #1. It was something like 23-8 when I left. SC was in our backfield all night. T had a real eye opener and a lot of work to do in my opinion.

Trinity was DOWN 23-8!?? :creepy:

There goes the all-important national ranking ... ;)

I'm not positive about the score but it's close. They put the scoreboard to zero at the end of each quarter.

Wow. I wouldn't have expected that.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but the Rocks lost by one I'm pretty sure when they elected to kick an extra point at the end instead of going for two. I really don't think the score was ever as lopsided as reported. BTW the JVs played some sort of 10-10-10-10-5-5 that ende up Trinity 18- SC 6 (no PATs allowed. The Rocks have some work to do on the O-line among other areas. SC's QB was very good and had some very good runs as the Rock D struggled with the wizardry of SC's offense. Not to worry, I'm sure the boys will be good and focused at practice this week.

Trinity ended up winning the scrimmage but because of the way the 4th quarter was played you couldn't figure a "final score". The first 3 quarters were played under regular clock and scoring conditions but in the 4th extra points/2-point conversions were not attempted and the teams ran plays in groups of 5 or 10. For example, a couple of times after Trinity scores Trinity actually got the ball back to finish their set of plays, starting at the 30-yard line. But based on actual touchdowns through the end of the 4th quarter, I'd say Trinity won by around 7-10 points if everything was being kept under regular rules.

Are you combining the Varsity and JV score to get your final talley or are you saying that you won the Varsity portion by 7-10 points? Your version differs from what LSU has posted above unless you did combine the scores.
