Where is the 10th region tournament this year?
Huumm...........The new NKU arena is large enough, in the 10th region, brand new, and a neutral site?? I'd be nice to see everyone else in the 10th burn their gas for a change!!

2007/2008 Elliott Co
Scott gave BB and GRC all they wanted, so it might have been more of a big 4? PC was definitely off from recent years, but was still dangerous at times (see Brossart game). Campbell and Harrison were inconsistent but had some talent, but maybe I'm giving them too much credit. Montgomery built a monster record early against an embarrassing schedule for a school their size, but faded losing 4 of their last 5. SG was very good considering they have only about 80 boys in the school, and surprised some teams. I thought Elliott and Russell were above the rest, but the region was uncharacteristically weak from there IMO last year. Agree with the schedule comments, as we know to be the best. you've got to play the best. It would really help them if they have high expectations. Other than Mason, the top teams in the 10th were devastated by graduation in '07, so this would be the year to schedule!!

Definately Scott, and probably teams like Campbell County, Montgomery County, Harrison County; along with Silver Grove and Pendleton on a given night IMO. Probably hard to tell since they didn't really play much of a schedule--Seems like they played the same 6-8 teams over and over (Raceland-3 times, Russell-3 times, E. Carter-4 times, W. Carter-3 times, etc.)?? Not knocking their team as I only saw them once, but they appeared to be the best of an average lot at the end of the year? Hey, they made it to Rupp--Hats off to them!! I just expected more after reading all the hype, that's all??

Good choice not to compare to the 10th last year!! I really did think the 16th was very evenly matched last year, and they seemed to take turns beating each other?? I'll expect more this year, and they should be a favorite for the All "A". Maybe beefing up the pre-tourney schedule would help??

Not really because the region was pretty evenly average, and they got a dream first round draw!! They would have been mid-pack or lower in the 10th!!

High School Golf Season Question
Actually most colleges have what amounts to two seasons--Fall is considered "non-traditional" I believe they commonly call it, and Spring is the "Traditional" season, when they play for regional titles and the NCAA's!! Many states HS seasons are in the spring as well, but you do have to battle unpredictable weather and especially rain?? Agree on the heat though, and the state tourney has been known to be COLD in early October!!

Pre-season 10th Region Baseball
Why heck--They only lost 7 of their 8 position players, and their top 3 ptichers to graduation?? :D

How will they do in the All "A" this year? I was very surprized at the early exit last year to an OK Paintsville team, after all the hype I'd heard about them.

Who will start at QB for CCH?
Is Wehry not in the mix? Was't he the #2 last year?

Greatest 10th region district game ever
Or the middle of the Arctic!!

Can "they" go undefeated playing an all star (state) schedule?
Worked for CovCath and NewCath last year, as both took a few on the chin early; but were ready for the playoffs??

Who will start at QB for CCH?
Isn't Isler the very big kid who had Tommy John surgery a year or so ago??

Where is the 10th region tournament this year?
Not unless all of Maysville shows up!!

2007/2008 Bishop Brossart
If Mason stays healthy, this is as one sided as I've seen the region in years and years. All the recent contenders either lost a ton to graduation or are on down cycles, and the Royals are loaded--You MC fans can get your reservations in Lexington for March!! The question with Mason is not can they win the 10th region, but can they win it all again??

Top Recieving Cores IN NKY
I'm admittedly not that up on this years' kids as in years past, but it's hard to believe that Highlands, NCC and CovCath don't land on this list somewhere?? CCH in particluar has thrown the ball well the last few years, and I've heard good things about Dixie's aerial game this year!!
-
Top Recieving Cores IN NKY
The Raiders have sent a lot of outstanding football players to CCH (and Dixie) over the years!!

Greatest 10th region district game ever
Very good timing!! Word was both sides were going to try and overflow the place and many would be left out--Probably would have happened had the weather not been so darn cold!!

Greatest 10th region district game ever
:thumb: :thumb: Hammertime!! The hype for that game, a district first rounder, was worthy of a regional final with a trip to Rupp on the line; which of course we all knew it was!!!!

Greatest 10th region district game ever
While both games were very exciting and nervewracking; I'd have to say the PC/BBHS game was the best; only due to what was on the line!! Both BB and Scott were assured a berth in the regionals, and were playing for pride and seeding; and no matter who won they were going to be rated behind Clark Co. and Mason. Could either have beaten both teams, sure if the cards fell right; but they both would have been considered upsets!! In the '05 game, a district opener due to non-seeding of the district, all the marbles were on the line--Loser went home, and unfortunately it was my Mustangs!! In addition, the winner of that game was an absolute lock to win the region, as evidenced by PC's virtual cruise through the field in Maysville!! #1 Fan--I also remember that very cold and long line to get into that game; but the sheer magnitude of that game, and the "winner go home" nature made it the top district game in my memory!!

Big (appx. 5000) and brand new!!

Scott Code at Campbell County
I think he'll do fine, and with CC's returning talent and the graduation losses at Brossart, Scott and Silver Grove, the Camels should be the favorite to win the district!! It will be interesting to see who he names as his assistants, and what personnel moves he makes within the roster? I think he's got quite a few returning seniors? Maybe someone closer to the program can enlighten us as to the expected roster, or who's been at the open gyms?? He'll have to deal with some late arrivals due to football & soccer, but he's been to that movie with the multiple sport kids at Brossart & Highlands!!
-
What's the best team ever from your region?
Then you'd have to include the '05 Brossart team that lost a very close 38th district opener to that team, in what may have been the best first round district matchup in 10th region history?? The regional title was a mere formality for the winner of that game!!

Best Players In The 9th.
The Northern Kentucky class of 2007 had an unusual number of outstanding athletes in multiple sports, and while NKY didn't end up producing any D-1 "basketball" talents last year; they did end up with a lot of kids going on to play college level sports. several at the D-1 level and several in basketball at the D-II, D-III and NAIA levels!!

NKY Games on Radio (KR Sports)
Mark Wehry (the current football/basketball/ baseball announcer) started the CovCath internet radio broadcasts with an assist from Brossart's "Mustang" who had previously started broadcasting Mustang basketball games on the internet!! I believe Mark actually broadcast his first game or two solo??

Campbell County's New Coach--Part II ????
Shouldn't this thread now be about congratulating Scott Code, who WAS chosen as the Camel's head man; rather than speculating on those RUMORED to have turned it down???? Whenever a job opens up there's always multiple applicants, and those not chosen always have turned it down for one reason or another?? By the way--How "loyal" is someone who's openly out exploring other opportunities?? I'd view "loyal" as someone who was approached about a job, but said "thanks, but no thanks"; not someone out applying for what they must view as a "better job"??
