  1. Nice of you to rain on the Polar Bears parade All In?? After the tough couple of years they've had trying to rebuild the program; how about just "Congrats on the win to Bracken"??

  5. I'd think the lack of a dressing area would be of more concern than the field condition?? At least give them a classroom or something?? Concerning Sears, if he choses to constantly bring attention to himself like he does; you'd better expect the attention it brings!!
  6. Have to agree with you Statman? Maybe Mr. Sears needs to spend more time tending to his tourney and the Somerset facilities, than sending memos to everyone trying to organize a private school boycott?? Sounds like a bad joke!!
  7. Absolutely!! I thought Cox threw the ball pretty well for Owen, and that the O & D lines were the main difference. Ogden seemed to be where every errant ball was thrown, but Owen's entire kicking game was horrendous?? They really need to correct that as they move into their season.
  8. By the way, I agree with the lost kids, but it will take more than a couple years IMO?? I think a football program takes longer to build than any other sports' program, due to the numbers it takes, especially at a smaller school!! Than said however, I've no doubt that in time the Mustangs will build a competitive program. A Beechwood move to 2-A would help accelerate the time line!!
  9. Speaking of the past, when will you & your buddies let the Bracken County debacle go--It happened, the coach stuck with his convictions, they lost, it's LONG AGO OVER???? I doubt you'd care to debate "underachieving", as your guys have turned it into an art form!! :D
  10. There would have been some kids with interesting decisions to make in the last few years had football been an option, let alone an established one!! I'd have loved to have seen some of the '05 and '07 Mustang hoopsters give football a try?? BBHS had a lot of great potential football talent pass through the doors the last 9 or 10 years!!
  11. Congrats to the Camels on their first win of the young season!! Wasn't this game in Lexington?
  12. Game was a little closer than the final score indicated, and was far from the "Blowout", "Owen will set records tonight", "JV will play by the 3rd quarter" predictions I saw on the other thread!! 6-0 Owen at the half, and they handled the line of scrimmage pretty much in the 2nd half. BB did a good job of holding onto the ball in the 1st half, but had about 4 turnovers in the 2nd half; one particularly damaging one as they were driving at about the 15 yard line down only 12-0. Owen took that turnover and drove it down for a 18-0 lead, and it was pretty much over. Didn't see much of the Owen JV's, and their starting QB was in until the end. BB's obviously got a lot to work on, but had some bright spots, including a couple of fine catches, including the TB catch. Couple of key injuries for Brossart, so hopefully they aren't too bad. I'm sure Mustang will have a report, as he broadcast the game on a tape-delay basis!!

  14. Isn't Holy Cross's Corey Sorrell basically a 2 guard? If so, he'd have to be on this list!!
  15. Not sure what Tates Creek's got, but after what should be a gimme in Pendleton, the Camels should see where they stand early vs. the Boone County triumvirate?? Love to see them get off to a quick start, and build some confidence for the second half of the season!!
  16. Size aside, Boone appears to be very good this year however!!
  17. 9th could come down to CovCath and Holmes--Who'd have thought?? :D
  18. CovCath never rebuilds, but simply reloads. Not sure how much size they'll have other than Noll; but they should be very deep. If memory serves, they will have a ton on guys in the 6' to 6'3" range. I'd look for Maile to have a big year, assuming he plays and doesn't concentrate on baseball? I agree with Budman on Roll, I remember him killing us in a JV game a couple of years ago!!
  19. Wow--Hostility in a volleyball thread????
  20. I think it would be an interesting concept, but maybe have tourneys only, similar to what the colleges do in the fall? It could be an opportunity for schools to use the tourney concept as a fund raiser as well?? As long as coaches don't penalize multi-sport kids for not participating, or use it to pressure kids into giving up baseball/track/etc.
  21. Good work by both GT and 'Ru--Throughly enjoyed the show! Very good knowledge of the area teams and their downstate competition--Love to hear more of the same as the season goes on? Are you guys planning a similar show for hoops when that season comes along? I'm sure there'd be lots of interest!!
  22. Can you say Harrison County??
  23. Wow--Get a map out?? At least the Fieldhouse is a little more centrally located and is a tremendous environment for HS hoops!! I'm still OK with keeping it there, as its a huge $$$$ producer and a great experience; unless of course the region were to decide to permanently put the tourney at a neutral location--like NKU's new arena??
