  1. Brossart has had a great run in golf for the last few years, especially since they're hardly known as a golf power over the years; but their streak of state tourney appearances came to an end this year, and congratulations to Grant on a hard earned victory!! This would have been especially rewarding as they only had two kids with varsty experience, but it wasn't to be. Congrats to both teams on fine seasons, and good luck to Highlands, Grant (Wow--Publics dominate again ) and BBHS's Brandon Heineke at state!!!!
  2. Why try to stir the pot and create annomosity where none exists?? Grant and BBHS aren't "Rivals" in anything, and I'm sure "this Grant County team" is thrilled to make it to state after a couple near misses the last couple years. To act like the public schools are celebrating this win all over NKY over is absolutely absurd?? Most NKY schools aren't even in the 9th region for golf, and few outside of the region give a darn what happens? I'd guess a lot more celebrated Ryle's victory over CovCath, due to their virtual stranglehold over 8th region golf in NKY for the last 10-15 years?? I'd have expected more from you??

  6. Who cares, except that the winner probably makes the playoffs??
  7. Great regular season by the Camels!! Good luck in the post-season!!
  8. I've not followed or attempted to read this entire thread, but I CAN give my thoughts on the realignment. My means of comparison are using just a few of the other top football playing states as examples. Florida, Texas, and California all have 1000+ football playing schools and only have 5-6 classes (FL does have a 1 A&B and 2 A&B)--KY has in the vicinity of 250-260 football schools and has six classes???????? Need more be said?? Can you say. let's give "Little Johnny a Trophy"?? Don't EVER try to tell me again that an All "A" Championship (best of approximately 120 schools--40+%) means less than a KY "Classed" Football Championship, regardless of who or who doesn't sanction it?? Obviously some in this state (other than basketball) want to give everyone a championship--Don't understand it?????????
  9. Sorry, didn't get to read the article, but I thank you for the info.
  10. Does this signal a change at the varsity helm for the Camels?
  11. Played them in the second half--I think he was being a bit sarcastic??
  12. Once again the out-manned Mustangs fought to the end, and played well against the Tigers' 2nd team. First half was just a case of being out-sized, out experienced, and giving up too many big plays. Tigers 1st four scores were a 50+ yard run, 2 long interception returns for TD's and a long punt return for a TD. Mustang's lack of football experience showed in all these plays, and a few others which set up TD's. Good news for Mustang fans was the continued hard play to the absolute end by the kids, most of which are going both ways. The line looked better, especially against the Bellevue reserves where the size was somewhat equal; and Tony Woeste ran the ball well tonight, even in the 1st half against the starters!! Fan support was outstanding again for Brossart--Long way to go, but everyone knew that would be the case this year!! Hats off to those kids who keep going out and busting their butts every game--You're setting the stage for the years to come, and your fans are proud of you!!!! :thumb:
  13. Good to see the Camels back on the "W" side of the ledger--Struggles continue for the Cougars!!
  14. Where will they put the new Boone County high school? It should be a 5-6 A football school out of the gate?
  15. 7--St. Xavier 5--Elizabethtown 3--Oldham County 2--Meade County 1--Bullitt County TB--St. Xavier
  16. 7--Lexington Catholic 5--Lexington Christian 3--Paul Dunbar 2--Lafayette 1--Taylor County TB--Lexington Christian
  17. 7--Campbell County 5--Holmes 3--Lloyd Memorial 2--Dayton 1--South Oldham TB--Lloyd Memorial
  18. Predicting the Beechwood starters play longer than they did this week, but still are sitting by early 2nd half, watching the running clock. 2nd & 3rd teamers continue the rout to the tune of about 63-7.
  19. We've already got three regions represented here in NKY, I sure hope the "powers-to-be" wouldn't introduce another??
  20. Probably not the best week to be playing someone who just got beat 49-0 with a startup program??
  21. With the possible exception of Beechwood and a couple other traditional 1-A powers, numbers and depth are always a problem for smaller schools?? Golf and cross country aren't going to sap many football players, but soccer will compete for some skill position players. Agreed it's difficult, but not impossible to field competitive programs in both. Brossart's main need other than sheer larger bodies, are experienced players. Few realize that many of their kids, regardless of age, have little or no competitive football experience at any level?? They will need to start selling themselves as an option for kids from the CC leagues, Ft. Thomas league, and Red Devils; and get kids that are committed to coming to Brossart involved with those leagues at the younger ages. You build a program from the ground up, and that's how they've managed to be successful in soccer, baseball, track and basketball. Build the youth programs and varsity success will come--And you can quote me on that!!
