The 40th district will select and host the 10th region this year. With Montgomery Co having their new gym, the assumption is it will be held there.

Have heard the Montgomery Co facilities are beautiful but I have got to go old school here and say there is just something about the Fieldhouse that made the 10th Region tournament unique.

I know that Montgomery County High School has been looking forward to hosting the 10th Region Tournament and will do a fine job. However, timing being everything, barring unforseen injury etc., it appears that the 2008 10th Regional Tournament will be a walkover for Mason County and this will drastically effect attendance and ultimately share money to the member and participating schools.

This will give all of the other advocates of keeping it at the Fieldhouse a great opportunity to say, "I told you so!"

I have been told that some businesses in Montgomery Co have agreed to make up the difference...so that should not be a issue.

4400 is what I've been told.

The fire marshall measured both the Fieldhouse and Montgomery counties new gym this past spring and the fieldhouse seated 5200 while Montgomerys new gym seated just 3600 , they said that the open areas on each side of the upper deck at Montgomerys gym could not be used because of fire saftey. Why would you not have enough seats for the crowd when the tenth region is the greatest region in the state because of the atmosphere.Facts are facts and if the fans and the revenue are the issue the region needs to stay at MASON.

Based on what KHSAA says:

MASON-5400

MONTGOMERY-4200

1200 seat difference. We have already had a discussion over this when they first built Montgomery's gym and now it appears that we will now feud over it once again.

If Gold Sunrise is correct the missing potential revenue should not be a problem.

I have no problem with the 40th wanting it at Montgomery, as long as they can produce the potential revenue that Mason has produced.

How many inches do they use to measure a person per seat?
