I would think that would be Monthonery...It is not bigger, but brand new..can't get much better than that...

I think Mountgomery County and its 4,200 seat gym could hold the 10th region tournament. About 1/2 the regional tournaments in the state were held at smaller gyms. The chairback seats would be an added comfort.

Don't forget when it is the 37th's turn, they may want it at NKU's new arena.

By facilities I mean , the best parking, the more efficient ticket sales, the most seats, and the most centralized for the other schools in the region to drive to. I do not live in Mason or Montgomery Co , but I've seen games in both gym's and I'd pick Mason but I'd probably enjoy games in either gym, that is if I can get in.:argue:

The Lousiville Gardens is 102 years old. It was the Jefferson County armory for a long time.

Yep. According to their web site the Lousiville Gardens was built in 1905 and celebrated their 100th aniversary in 2005.

I dont think Mason County being centrally located holds a lot of water either. According to my map Maysville is on the Ohio River, on the northern edge of the region. Montgomery county is on the southern edge of the region. Neither are the least bit centrally located.

 

According to Mapquest the 8 teams in the 10th regional tournament in 2007 averaged driving 56 minutes each way. If the same teams played in Mount Sterling they would have averaged driving 68 minutes each way, a whooping 12 minute difference.

The Mason County Field House is located about 3/4 a mile past the junction of US 68 and the double AA (which are main arteries that runs through uptown).
