Huumm...........The new NKU arena is large enough, in the 10th region, brand new, and a neutral site?? I'd be nice to see everyone else in the 10th burn their gas for a change!!

 

Hey, when it is your districts turn to host the region...go for it.:thumb:

In my book it should stay at the Fieldhouse! The Fieldhouse in my book is not Mason counties gym it is every fan in the 10th regions gym in some fashion. Maybe my reaons are old fashion but from a historical perspective it is the only place to have the 10th region tournament!

Play it at Morehead State on opposite nights of the 16th,it could be worked out that way ,if the real reason is to be fair not just to take it away from the Fieldhouse what better place a neutral site.

Why does it even matter the best team will win regardless where its played guys.I dont mind driving every other year and being fair to everyone that wants in Mt. Sterling,Now if i get there and get turned away due to no seats then we have a different story but till that becomes a case and it isn't at this point all is good.

I know that Montgomery County High School has been looking forward to hosting the 10th Region Tournament and will do a fine job. However, timing being everything, barring unforseen injury etc., it appears that the 2008 10th Regional Tournament will be a walkover for Mason County and this will drastically effect attendance and ultimately share money to the member and participating schools.

 

This will give all of the other advocates of keeping it at the Fieldhouse a great opportunity to say, "I told you so!"

Well see feed the wolves,Last year was different i believe most everyone with any basketball knowledge knew GRC had a real shot also ,But most Believed Mason would still win.But in the end the best team won as they will no matter where you hold the region and that was GRC.I believe this year is a little different there was so many good players graduate last year from so many teams i Believe Mason will be heavy favorites this year.Last year i said i thought Mason would win but i said all along GRC had a real shot ,This year i will be shocked if Mason don't win the region because i think they are the best team.

Hey buddie...leave early... This past year the finals where on a Sunday. The game started at 3:00. We left Winchester at 11:00...to get good seats. I also have had to take a half a days work off to get to the regional games on a week night several years. Our school has had to charter several buses to take the kids to the region because we could not get a school bus back in time from their route and get to the game in time. One year the boys chartered bus broke down and the band bus had to let the boys take their bus...the band arrived at half time.

 

Can we make everyone happy...NO...Rotate and share the burden that some schools experience every year with it being at Mason Co.

Wow--Get a map out?? At least the Fieldhouse is a little more centrally located and is a tremendous environment for HS hoops!! I'm still OK with keeping it there, as its a huge $$$$ producer and a great experience; unless of course the region were to decide to permanently put the tourney at a neutral location--like NKU's new arena??

I would not mind seeing it there. The new arena is supposed to be done by sometime in 08' so it could be a possibility.

Hey Goldie, if your a true fan then you do those type of things such as leave early to get a seat, but most likely to also get a bite to eat before. I was there before 2pm this past year and got a great seat so I don't buy into that altogether. As far as vacation, we work for that all year around and pick and choose when we want to take it. Personally I take a weeks worth come March for tourney time anyhow because of being a true fan of the 10th Region and never had to bring it into a forum or thread. We tried the rotation thing long before you hit Winchester and it didn't work, I think that was back in 1969....gee if it hasn't been broke for 38 years, why try to experiment and fix it in 08 to a place that was pushed come a girls 10th region tournament in hosting. Face it, the logical place outside of Morehead or NKU's future facility is the Fieldhouse and not anywhere in the 40th district or anywhere else. Clark won the region last year because the best team wins no matter where it is played. If you or anyone else find it unfair, Captain Obvious says build a gym in your area that will more than hold a regional tournament in the 10th and then everything is resolved.

The best team won on that day and that is what I have always said, how can you not say that....Knowles was phenomenal, they hit every shot when they needed to, and played great defense on the rest of Mason County players after Darius Miller. Have never said it for all season and for that reason, it doesn't matter where the game is played. Let it go on the rotating basis to those that CAN host it, and everytime that game is decided, the best team on that day will win the game. If you have ever heard coaches talk after getting beat, the first thing they will say is their opponent was the better team today. My statements have merritt. Food for thought.
