anyone who attended last year's girls semi and finals will tell you the gym was packed and as everyone knows the boys tourneys always bring many more fans than the girls (unfortunately). Truthfully, the gym was really crowded and I can see that happening again because the 10th region teams (no matter who is playing) seem to always bring a lot of fans.

Tha Mason fans turned out last year for the girls final on the same day as the Boys played. If Mason is in the Final, trust me Mason fans will be there.

In my opinion if there was a year to figure out which gym would be suitable for the 10th Region Tourn. this would be the year to do it with the 10th Region being somewhat a little down this year. It's obvious in other posts that Mason Co. will be ahead of everybody this year, but who knows tourney time rolls around and anything can happen.

The timing of this is terrible, IMO...coinciding with Miller and Setty's senior years, should Mason make it to the finals. I would hate to think that prospective coaches, scouts, etc., would be among those turned away.

Holding the region at Montgomery co. is no different than holding the region at Saint Patrick or Augusta ,because there is not enough seats at Montgomery either.

ripcity, your comment above probably makes the most sense when you look at the overall picture of this thread. If people are turned away from watching a game or games at Montgomery, it would be the same situatioin as if it were held at St. Patrick, Augusta. Not a knock at St. Pat or Augusta, just pure facts. Totally agree with your statement!

As you said I did not mean any disrespect to Augusta or Saint Pat what I was saying was that the fans could care less if the business people of Montgomery county make up the revenue the fans want to be comfortable to watch the game and to be able to see the game ,once before the 10th region tried this and people had to watch the game on televisions in other parts of the school what they should have done was built a gym bigger or the same size of the fieldhouse if they wanted to hold such a big event.Bad planning is what I would call what was done.

I love the Fieldhouse. The 10th region tourney will not be the same anywhere else. I say stick with tradition. Too bad my opinion doesn't really matter.

It has been said that this is the only fair thing to do and not let one school have the advantages of hosting the region every year. I understand that there are some that want it to stay at the Field House, while others agree to a change. There are pro and cons for both.

Good to see we are already in mid-season form with this debate. I think it should stay at the Fieldhouse, for no other reason than it's about 5 minutes from where I live. :lol:

The 16th region is always at Morehead state university and also the two Louisville regions are played at Louisville gardens.

Yes these regions have held them at these sites for many years....and they are a neutral site...this being the key factor. Morehaed is not a central location for that region either. I can remember when the 16th was held at Summitt Middle School.Also not a central location. It would be great if our region had a neutral site, but it dosn't....but I am sure there would be some that would find fault in that too...

Huumm...........The new NKU arena is large enough, in the 10th region, brand new, and a neutral site?? I'd be nice to see everyone else in the 10th burn their gas for a change!!
