Mustang
What does Bishop Brossart need to do to improve in 2007/2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.Brossart loses our top eight players from the 2007 team and will rebuild from the bottom up. The nucleus of Bob Rowe's 13-9 Junior Varsity team will become the 07-08 varsity Mustangs along with a few promising sophomores. This group is working extremely hard this summer to get to where they need to be to compete at the varsity level. As always we will play intense defense and play smart, good fundamental basketball on both ends of the court. Expect the 07-08 Mustangs to take their lumps early, but be a competitive, cohesive unit when it comes time to defend our 10th Region All "A" string of championships (5), with our sights set on a return in Richmond in early February. This is what I like about the BB teams. As with many of the teams in the 10th region they were hit hard by graduation, and will be a rebuilding year for many. The Royals are playing in a ton of tournaments and showcases this year, and to be perfectly honest, we are not the same Mustangs that we have been since the late nineties. So dropping the regular season game this year works out O.K. for both of us. If we get by Bracken County in the first round of the MCIT, we will undoubtedly play Mason County (who would have to beat Pendleton County) in the MCIT semi-finals. Most contracts run for two year periods, so I would expect to have the Royals back on the regular season in a couple of years.
Mustang
Mustang, who do you look to take Scott Code's position on the Mustang staff?Prefer not to say at this time. It would be total speculation on my part. I'm sure that Mike will talk it over with Bob Rowe and his existing staff before making a decision, OR we may stay with what we have this year, giving Jeff Henry and Curtis Bezold bigger roles. Old Soda
Ok thanks for the insight. I am sure both of those guys would do a great job with more responsibilities. They are both good young men.

I'd LOVE to get to play one more time in the "throwback" Augusta gymnasium.

panther15z30
I'll have to check and see if the Augusta game is a two year contract. I'd LOVE to get to play one more time in the "throwback" Augusta gymnasium. I think that would be great. The two schools used to have a decent rivalry "back in the day." If memory serves me correctly I believe I saw in the Augusta history book that the Mustangs lead the all-time series 27-24? could be wrong. CoachCsU
Since they lost so many to graduation last year I'd like to know if they have any players to watch for next year that may impact the 10th...
HoopsCrazie
The 'Stangs are ducking the Royals? Not really. Mason just wanted to play better competition. A mutual agreement like he said.
