The 'Stangs are ducking the Royals?

I think the key phrase you convienently missed in Mustangs' post was "The Royals are playing in a ton of tournaments and showcases this year"??

Mason has one of those "every so often" teams and wants to showcase them and Darius in particular. I'm sure BBHS will be back to playing the cream of the crop in the 10th as they have since they moved to the region!! Bit of a cheap shot at a program who's been playing pretty much all comers for years?? I'd be happy to compare their schedule to any other "A" school??

The problem is that a couple of the returning players have a little bit of varsity expierence and the rest have pretty much none. It's definitley going to be a rebuilding year but you also can look at the incoming freshmen coming in. They have four good freshmen that will probably be playin J.V. next season and the players are John Shack, Daniel Schultz, Dylan ( i forgot his last name), and Travis Norton (the transfer from Simon Kenton). I think they have a pretty talented Freshmen class coming in.

Brossart is going to have to play hard nosed defense. They don't have a real low post presence like they did last season with Troy Cooper.

Do you think Brossart can get passed Mason County this year?

No.

For someone using "Brossart Basketball" as a moniker, you seem to be far removed from the goings on of your namesake and their competition.

Having lost our top eight players to graduation, and only returning two seniors who saw no meaningful varsity playing time last year - we are facing a major re-building season.

Mason County has one of the top, if not the top, returning classes in the state, and to ask this group to duplicate the efforts of the 2007 Mustangs in the All "A" State Tournament this year would be totally unrealistic.

With that said, our varsity team is comprised of hard-nosed guys who competed every day at practice against last year's varsity and know the system. They will take it upon themselves to be as competitive as possible and will do their best to earn (or maintain) respect as they go through the growing process.

In the 10th this will be a rebuilding year for most of the teams except Mason Co. BB will take some knocks this season like most of the rest in the 10th due to so many players graduating this past year. One thing I love about the 10th region is how our teams always represent our region with class, and how we pull for each other....best region there is.:thumb:

No one in the 10th can this year. Mason will dominate the the 10th region because it is down this year due to a lot of talent that graduated (ie. Brossart, Clark, Scott). Plus, Mason has an outstanding team this year.

A Norton from SK going to Brossart:confused: If this is Doug's kid I thought he was pretty solidly entrenched at SK having already played baseball there a couple of years.

Brossarts frosh last year were pretty solid...don't see any incoming frosh getting to play any JV minutes this year unless they have a couple of surprises.

If Mason stays healthy, this is as one sided as I've seen the region in years and years. All the recent contenders either lost a ton to graduation or are on down cycles, and the Royals are loaded--You MC fans can get your reservations in Lexington for March!! The question with Mason is not can they win the 10th region, but can they win it all again??
