East has changed quite a bit in the past 10 years. It's not just a bunch of farm kids anymore.

Warren East also will benefit greatly from Warren Central transfer Eli Brown, arguably one of the best players in south central Ky. If East can get going they have a real shot to win the region and a chance to play in the state finals.

Tates Creek was beaten 34-14 by GRC and GRC was 0-3 FOR ZERO yards. Zero passing yards? I was badly mistaken. That Commodore pass defense is so intimidating nobody attempts to pass against it. I don't know what is worse. Getting beat 3 TD's by a team (a 3-8 team I might add) that threw for zero yards on 3 attempts. Or if you are GRC and attempt only 3 passes and completes none of them. In defense of GRC, they did win the game by 3TD's. Nothing like 6A football in Lexington/Central Ky. Goodluck to Tates Creek this year.:isurrender:

Nothing like a 3-8 team having the 'best secondary in the state'. SMH

St X is just 2 years removed from blasting Trinity a combined 66-17 in 2 games. Glazer and St X are just fine. Trinity is just on a run with a group of players the past 2-3 years that is unprecendented even for Trinity or X.

For good spread teams, the wide tackle 6 is like 'shooting fish in a barrel'.

I believe Texas is the only state that doesn't follow national federation rules which only allow blocking below the waist in the free blocking zone. Texas high schools follow NCAA rules.

That district lost 3 of 4 first round games last year playing the NKy 6A district. They may lose 4 of 4 this year.

If BG and Warren Central aren't in the finals i'll be shocked. The only one that could upset that scenario is Glasgow. There is a love fest for Russell Co. every year and it never materializes.

So there is a real concern for 24 teams out of 300+ teams that will have all their two way players available the friday before Thanksgiving and that is a reason to shorten the season? The biggest issue seems to be basketball beginning practice on October 15. That date should be pushed up to Nov 1 and begin games the Monday following the state finals.

You really think schools are strapped for cash due to football teams having to travel to 5-6 games a year? If you want to know what straps athletic budgets as far as travel is concerned, look no further than boys and girls basketball, baseball/softball, boys/girls soccer, & every other non-revenue sport. Football and boys basketball are the the only revenue generating sports at high schools and I hardly think 5-6 football road games are draining the budget.

Lost a lot from a 3-8 team? I say they win more than 3 games in '12.
