The reality is this.... St X is the 2nd best 6A school in Kentucky year in and year out, and will be, as long as Bob Beatty is at Trinity.

To improve and get remotely closer to Trinity the Tigers must:

-Find a way to stop Trinity's big play offense

-Develop a MUCH better passing game, or,

-Run the ball and play power football on offense 90% of the game and try to beat Trinity 21 - 17, or some such score.

As long as Glazer cannot stop Trinity's big play offense, and as long as Glazer tries to dabble in all kinds of offesnsive schemes (a little of this, a little of that), they have NO SHOT of beating Trinity.

If they can't beat Trinity, they really cannot improve their high school football situation in Kentucky.

Sad, but true.

St X is just 2 years removed from blasting Trinity a combined 66-17 in 2 games. Glazer and St X are just fine. Trinity is just on a run with a group of players the past 2-3 years that is unprecendented even for Trinity or X.

3rd best in 6A Simon Kenton will be 2nd best this year! Will find out August 10th scrimmage SK vs ST. X!

Lets see: 2001,2002,2003,2005,2006,2007,2008,2010,2011. Yep, everything is fine with me :thumb:

May be your best post yet, and should do what you hope it does. For the record, for those not from NKy, SK may not be the third best team in Kenton County, let alone the state.

Wow! St Xavier will be improved from last year and we got you at home ! May the best team win, but I have a sneaky suspicion the tigers prevail big !

This is pretty well summed up. Gimmicks and silly deviations from the rock em sock offense seldom surprise anyone

Glaser has some really great tools with this years team. He needs to use them wisely or risk another abomination

I see he gap between X and T narrowing this year !

Heard the same spin from the X camp when Brian Brohm graduated. We all know how that has worked out.

X does return 3 D1 recruits.

TE Tyler Polston 6'3 218

DE Karl Roesler 6'2 215

RB Brandon Moore 5'8 170

Everyone predicting the doom and gloom for St.X is woefully overstating the situation. St.X will always be competitive and I have no doubt that when the current crop of talent leaves Trinity they will be much more competitive. While Blockbuster is off a year in his 66-17 comment (that occurred in 2009...2012-2009= 3) St.X actually has more of a history of blowouts against Trinity than Trinity does against St.X. Until 2007 Trinity had never scored more than 28 points against X and in 2010 Trinity reached a mark in beating St. X 48-0 only matched once previously. For the sake of reference that was the first matchup between the schools back in 1956. It is important to note however that the changing of the O-Line for the Rocks may even this whole thing up considerably. As good as they are, without the dominant line Trinity has had for the last 2 years things may be a little different.

Also to note Blockbuster in 2010 the combined score for Trinity against St. X was 83-6 and 2011 was 83-12. So in many ways X improved between 2010 and 2011 while the Rocks stayed stagnant. Maybe this year will continue that trend....

X does return 3 D1 recruits.

Not sure your scouting report is accurate, but you are forgetting deonte clyburne MLB. Probably tigers best defensive player also. Patrick semershiem cb

Trinity's O line will re load just fine!

Trinity's O line will re load just fine!

No doubt they will reload. But losing what they had last year will take time to develop. Get this down: there is no longer a lineman on their team that will be able to block roesler consistently.

6'2" and 215 pounds. I see what you mean. Probably no one on the T roster that can block that monster.
