  1. I think both teams are playing their best right now, long story short, I think Monroe's best will be better... Monroe 42 Ft Knox 21
  2. FalconBacker is a Fort Campbell Falcon fan. That doesn't change the fact, that things are indeed looking good in Tompkinsville right now, Ft. Knox is no doubt a talented team, but my money is on the Falcons this Friday night. Just my opinion but if I we're a Danville fan I would be awful concerned about Green Co. and the potential of the regional championship being decided by district 3 for the third straight year, just saying...
  3. ^ Congrats to the FC Falcons as well...
  4. Awful proud of the way the Falcons fought tonight. Washington is a very quick and athletic team, at one point in the third qtr I thought Roe was going to run away with it, already up 9 we held them to 3 and out but fumbled the punt and also had two TD's called back. But nevertheless the Falcons keep fighting and left with the win. 1-0, Go Roe Go!
  5. Monroe's defense starting to look good after a rough start.
  6. No doubt 2A football is the most open of the classes... OC will be very dangerous because of the offense they run, the Tony Franklin system has given some teams fits over the years, Monroe being one of those teams. Coach Petett is very familiar with them from when he was DC and they were in our district, but we have a lot of work to do before we even think about that game...
  7. I forgot to add how much better our Defense is starting to look. I think Vickery at DE was a big improvement and I think maybe Trent Tooley should get a little time at CB and give London a little time at the other DE, London is a great open field tackler and has the speed to give an OT fits trying to block him. For too long I've watched us get abused off tackle, I don't know how Washington Co. runs their offense but I know how Green, Glasgow and Danville do, and if you can win the battle at the LOS and have two great ends you can go far in this region...
  8. If the same Falcon team that played ACS shows up, WC better look out. The Falcons where laying the wood with some big hits and getting good penetration in the backfield, and that was against a huge ACS team that looks more like a junior college team than a high school team. Monroe 35 Washington Co. 21
  9. Almost forgot to mention the monster game by Trent Tooley, 7 catches 206 yards. That happens to break the school record by 46 yards. Needless to say I think we need to be getting the ball in his hands even more than we have been...
  10. I have to say, that by far this is the best game the Falcons have played this season. For the first time this year it was clear to me that they left it all on the field. I think the change to putting Vickery at DE was a big step forward for our defense, but I still think we need improvement at the other DE spot. IMO our defense can't be blamed much for this loss, our offense did a bad job moving the football at times and really left ACS with a short field. We've got to do a better job of finding the open receiver quicker when we feel the pocket collapse, way too many sacks taken that could be avoided if Jackson had a check down receiver in the flats that he could dump the ball off to. Bottom line is ACS came out and played their starters the entire game and so did the Falcons, and in the end Monroe didn't have quite enough, but did manage to play ACS closer than anyone has this year, all in all I think the Falcons may be finding their mojo at the last minute and may finally be playing to their potential...
  11. IMO the best shot the Falcons have to disrupt ACS's running game, is to play Hodges and Vickery at nose guard in hopes that their speed and power will get them through the line with better success than our other linemen have been having. To be honest ACS is a juggernaut and it will take a monumental effort to make it a close game, much less win, it will certainly take more grit than the Falcons have shown to date...
  12. I think there's a pretty good chance these teams meet again in three weeks... Not sure the outcome will be any different, but if we can get by Washington Co. then it will most likely be another trip to Dragon Stadium for the Falcons...
  13. Hats off to Green, they played a solid, mistake free game and looked like a good team should at this point in the season… It doesn’t change my opinion of them, but to deny that they’re a good team would be crazy… As for Monroe, I’m not at all happy with where we are, I feel like we have the right ingredients for success but the recipe is way out of whack. I feel like our defense is way worse than it should be. At this point in the season I can honestly say our defense has gotten worse, not better. I think at this point we need to have open tryouts with no positions safe, like I said before, I think we have the right ingredients. One of my biggest problems with our defense is the lack of impact our defense ends have on the running game, don’t believe me? Check the number of tackles our ends have at this point in the season, what you will find will be sad, especially when you consider how often teams run off tackle on us. I don’t know what happened to lining the ends up on the outside hip of the tackle and trying to get penetration to disrupt the play, instead our defensive ends play like linebackers and scrape the LOS, more often than not they take their self out of the play. I hope that we can get it together in the next week, but it’s the wrong time in the season to be searching for something effective. At this point it should about fine tuning not overhauling…
  14. Why would I buy a ski when I've heard Green Co has a clock operator for sale?
  15. I also agree with the rankings when it comes to Monroe. Monroe has had opportunity’s to prove their worthy of their previous rankings and have failed to do so...
  16. As for the Game, the Falcons will have to play better than they have the last two weeks if they expect to come out of Greensburg with a win. IMO at this point in the season we are going to have to start playing the best 11 guys whenever possible, I realize that guys need a break but I think we're at the point in the season that some guys are just going to have to give more, like on kick off. Our defense is also going to have to be loaded up a little. I personally would like to see Vickery get some reps at DE, I think he could play that position well and that’s a position that we need some help at. I think the Falcons will get it going this week and get a 35-30 win...
  17. Well put me in the crowd that doesn't like Green at all... I've heard the excuses when we won (watered the field), seen Green not except the runner up trophy and made the whole thing very awkward even for our team, seen their players take cheap shots at our players last year (when the game was basically over), seen their players come to watch us play Fort Campbell and cheer for FC, we've had their students vandalize our spirit signs and not to mention the distain that I have for their Head Coach. I can't think of a team I've ever disliked more than Green...
  18. Monroe jumps out to a 14-0 lead then who knows what happened? To be honest, nothing I've got to say is good so as a fan I think its best I just say nothing...
  19. This should be a dandy of a game. Glasgow is a huge rival, and has been dating back to the Tompkinsville High years. Both Glasgow and Monroe have great Coach's (best two in the region, IMO) who will put together a great game plan. IMO Monroe will win this game for one reason, our ability to effectively pass the ball. I believe if Jackson has a good night throwing the ball the Falcons will win by two TD's, I think it will important to keep pressure off Jackson and to keep Glasgow's defense on their heels with draws and some screens as well as stretching the field with Tooley and Turner. As for the defense for these two teams, I think Monroe is in better shape to stop Glasgow than Glasgow is to stop us. I realize Glasgow will have some big plays because their a big play type team, the Falcons will have to limit the big plays and capitalize on the mistakes they will make in going for the big play... Monroe 35 Glasgow 27
  20. FC 41 Todd County 7 Does FC have Powell back yet?
  21. You mean besides the "ata boy" and the player of the game award he got?
  22. Makes me look selfish? You guaranteeing a Green Victory vs. Monroe? Your right about the loss to Franklin Simpson being bad, If we had a little more "time" it might have been different. I bet you know where we could find a good clock operator? Why would I have any jealousy or respect for Green Co. When Green Loses they claim we wet the field, when we stomp them for the regional championship on their field (39-14) they try to start taking our players out with cheap shots away from the ball (I believe the video is still available online). Why would I have respect for the Coaches of Green who can't seem to conduct themselves in a civil manner or even keep from having a monumental breakdown on a message board? (Remember last year?). Bottom line is Green Co. hasn't deserved my respect on the field or off, two of the last 3 years they have won the district but lost the region to teams they had previously beaten, no respect earned there. Off the field I will never have respect for the dragons as long as Griffith and the current coaching staff is in place, if that changes then maybe someday I could cheer for the Dragons and who knows if Griffith keeps job hunting maybe somebody beside Green will be silly enough to hire him... Good Day...
  23. I've enjoyed it personally. Some of the post have brought my attention to topics I would normally not have interest in...
