If they’re playing it’s because they’re blowing teams out, or the varsity is terrible. They’re definitely not playing meaningful varsity minutes or Trinity is in big trouble. Sounds like a claim from an over exuberant freshmen parent.

Lloyd defense controlled the game. NCC has no shot of getting past Raceland or Pikeville this year. But they will have a decent record against their local schedule.

Special teams looked like they just worked on it for the first time the last 10 minutes of last night’s practice.

Transfers from Latin probably won’t be a big boost to the Covcath football team.

An 8th grader wouldn’t be considered a transfer. But could the guy help an established varsity team as a freshmen? Not too many can.

Brossart is fortunate being in the 10th. They should easily win that region about every year. There could be a year here or there when one of the other schools has a good team. But at first glance, I’d pick Brossart every time. The 9th would be a lot harder to win consistently. There’s always a lot of teams that could challenge in the 9th.

Still a dumb rule. Most coaches probably never responded to that question because they didn’t think that rule change was possible. Change for the sake of change. It’ll help 2 groups of people. Teams that can’t shoot free throws. They can now better protect a lead. And it’ll also help the scorekeepers that struggle counting higher than 5.

Not a very well thought out rule change. Sounds like it was proposed by a team that couldn’t knock down 1 and 1 ft’s.

Mid to late 30’s, former players during successful eras are the best options imo.

What about all these kids that think they’re wanted by a school, enroll, show up at the first day of football practice, and find out there’s 35 other freshmen wr’s? The path to ever getting on the field for most of them isn’t ever happening. Especially at the small schools. Most of the small schools will take anyone. You don’t necessarily have to be good. “How was the first day of practice son?” “Well, during warmups, I got 2 reps on the out pattern, but then I was still 18th in line when it ended.”

Once their team plays the first game, the students leave thus opening up the other half. Think about it. The students from the first game aren’t sticking around for the 2nd game. Especially the losing team.

The gaps are just because a team hasn’t entered their schedule into the system yet. The teams showing 4-5-6 games are because the opponents entered the schedule and they haven’t as of now. They’ll no doubt have 10 games.

Yes. Covington Catholic is shrinking in size. Now St Henry is starting football and it eventually siphons off a few of the players. Covington Catholic will be trending downward long term.

A really bad day for Lexcath. This game and also lost the football coach.
