You can’t beat decent teams without playing defense. Hence why Highlands has convincingly lost to the top 4 in the 9th this year.

Can we also get a list of restaurants where you’ve eaten before each game? I think it’s important.

No heat. Just could’ve been a homerun hire with a homegrown younger guy who played for Mueller. That’s what’s needed imo.

Good comeback win. Great shooting. But the lack of any attempt to coach defense is concerning. Hey coach, can you at least teach switching and close outs? And quit running under screens. You have zero chance to beat Covcath this year without playing some basic form of defense.

My understanding is one committee member wanted hs head coaching experience over a college coordinator’s experience and was insistent on it. It swayed the committee and the right coach got away. Hopefully he won’t be involved if there’s any future committees.

I’m not sure what the process was, but Highland’s process was flawed. For sure initially. And personally still think they hired the wrong guy for Highlands after the initial mistake. That doesn’t mean he’s a bad coach or a bad guy. Just not what Highlands needs imo.

Why didn’t Covcath petition up to stay with Highlands?

Put as much speed as you can find on defense and the defense will be fine. I’d roll with with the same QB. Need a solid RB that can get you a few yards even when the opponent knows you’re running it. Also need a RB that is a threat to go to the house on any play.

Closer than expected. Yes. St Henry gave Covcath a good game. I think they’re getting better. It was closer than I expected. Didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. That was my opinion when the final score was posted.

To me Conner looked like the stronger, more athletic team. That’s what lead to so many more fouls by Covcath. The fouls were the difference imo.

How many wins did Coach Shields have at NKU? If he had stayed at Highlands for his remaining coaching years, and continued with the success he was having, this conversation would never be happening at any point. Taking nothing away from Coach Faust success, but I always like to see the winning pct as well.

I have nothing to report about the home schoolers they played tonight. How is that even a team and why does Highlands have them on the schedule?

Nice bounce back game for the Camels. Are they one the favorites in the 10th again this year?

Is Holy Cross supposed to be good this year? I don’t follow that closely, but they’re not usually talked a team I hear people talking about as a contender. When was the last time they won the 9th?

Covcath isn’t dumb. They don’t want to move up to 5A. They know the pendulum is swinging back the other way for another decade or more of being dominated by the rival again. Highlands always played up in 5A to stay with Covcath when Covcath was the larger school, but it’s apparent Covcath won’t make the same choice now. Covcath just had the longest run over Highlands in their history prior to this year. It was a good 5-6 years run. Seemed longer for the Highlands fans because it was unprecedented. It ended though. The thing that’s probably upsetting if I’m a Covcath fan, is it only resulted in 2 titles, whereas Highlands was winning it all about every year while beating up on Covcath.

If the turf is actually going to be red, that’s awful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that color scheme would be hard to look at very often.

I thought Covcath needed motivation after this game.
